4. Fruit Trail Mix
1/2 cup dried cantaloupe
1/2 cup dried banana slices
1/2 cup shredded coconut
1/2 cup mixed raisins
1/3 cup chopped dried dates
1 cup mixed nuts (optional)
1/4 cup dried apricots, peaches or pears
Cut fruit into small pieces and mix together. Add nuts, if desired. Store in airtight container.
5. Fruit Sauce
3-1/2 cups dried strawberries
1 cup hot water
3/4 cup dried banana chips
1 cup blueberries
Simmer ingredients until tender. Add 1/2 cup maple syrup and 1/4 cup oat bran.
Place all ingredients into a blender or food processor. Add water to attain desired
consistency, and blend until smooth.
Delicious over pancakes, waffles or on toast.
6. Dried Fruit Powders
Place any dried fruit pieces in the freezer and then pulverize the frozen pieces in a blender
or food processor. Add white or brown sugar if a sweeter taste is desired.
Sprinkle on ice cream or yogurt
Blend into your fruit roll-ups
Add to fruit salads

OTE: This same process can be used for vegetable powders (i.e. onion powder).
VEGETABLE RECIPES
1. Vegetable Soup
2 cups boiling water
1/2 cup dried onion
2 cups mixed dried vegetables
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 cup dried celery
1/2 tsp dried basil
1 16oz. can of crushed tomatoes
1/2 tsp dried thyme
3 cups broth
3 Tbsp. butter
3/4 cup barley or small pasta of choice
1 Tbsp. dried parsley
salt and pepper to taste
Pour boiling water over the mixed vegetables, onion and celery and set aside for 30
minutes. Heat broth and tomatoes and add barley or pasta.
2. Vegetable Purée for Baby
1/3 cup powdered dried vegetables (See “Dried Fruit Powders” Page 16
1/2 to 1 cup hot water or milk
Use vegetables that are very dry and brittle. Mix in blender until powdery. Pour hot liquid
over vegetable powder and rehydrate for approximately 20 minutes.
Purée in a blender until smooth.
3. Instant Vegetarian Soup
Mix together any combination of your favorite dried vegetables. Add dried noodles
or dry rice.
Pour 2 cups of dried “mix” into 2 cups of boiling water or vegetable broth.
Cover and simmer until tender. Add seasonings to taste.
