Survivor Filter PRO X
Cleaning
After prolonged use or before storing your Survivor
Filter PRO X, the
Ultra Filter and Ultra Filter Pre-Filter
can be cleaned with clean water and/or vinegar/denture
cleaning solution. WARNING: DO not use vinegar or
denture cleaning solution on the
Carbon Filter.
Disassemble all components and flush with clean,
fresh water as described in this instruction manual.
Soak the
Ultra Filter and Ultra Filter Pre-Filter in
vinegar/denture cleaning solution for 20 minutes.
Remove the
Ultra Filter and Ultra Filter Pre-Filter from
vinegar/denture cleaning solution and flush with clean,
fresh water.
Shake out each filter element to remove
any excess water.
Air dry all components and then reassemble.
WARNING: DO NOT soak the Carbon Filter in vinegar
or denture cleaner as this will shorten the life of the
Carbon Filter.
Store your Survivor Filter PRO X in a clean, dry place.
Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and store away
from excessive heat sources.
DO NOT FREEZE.
Backwashing can be done once you return from your trip
and can even be performed while on the trail. To backwash
while on the trail or in the wilderness, make sure that you
have saved some clean water that has already been filtered.
