Backwashing can be done once you return from your trip
and can even be performed while on the trail. To backwash
while on the trail or in the wilderness, make sure that you
have saved some clean water that has already been filtered.

Cleaning/Backwashing the Ultra Filter Pre-Filter
Option #2: Backwash without the Syringe
Remove the
Ultra Filter Pre-Filter from Water Inlet Hose
and clean the

vinegar or a clean wet paper towel.
Place
Water Inlet Hose in clean, fresh water. If on the go
you can use the treated water that has been filtered by
the Survivor Filter PRO X.
Place Survivor Filter PRO X on a firm, flat base.
In preparation for backwashing, turn on the filter for 5 seconds
to prime the internal system with water and to remove air.
Connect the
Ultra Filter Pre-Filter to the Water Outlet Hose.
Turn on the PRO X, allowing water to flow into the Ultra
Filter Pre-Filter
, flushing out any blockages or small debris.
Backwash up to 100,000 liters using the same process.
