TIGHTENING
TORQUE
Tighten
all
bolts
and
nuts
described
below
to
the
proper
torque
using
an
accurate
torque
wrench.
If
insuffi
ciently
tightened,
a
bolt
or
nut
may
become
damaged
or
fall
off,
possible
resulting
in
damage
to
the
motor
cycle
and
injury
to
the
rider.
A
bolt
or
nut
which
is
over
tightening
may
become
damaged,
strip
and
internal
thread,
or
break
and
then
fall
out.
The
following
tables
list
the
tightening
torque
for
the
major
bolts
and
nuts
of
engine
and
chassis.
When
checking
the
tightening
torque
of
the
bolts
and
nuts,
first
loosen
the
bolt
or
nut
by
half
a
turn
and
then
tighten
to
specified
torque.
