Follow
the
steps
below
for
adjusting
and
checking the steering stem.
` Using the steering nut socket wrench and
torque
wrench,
tighten
the
stem
nut.
Move the steering stem back and forth
five or sixtimes to seat the bearings.
+ Loosen the steering stem nut to 0 kg-m.
Then retighten very lightly so that no
play can be detected in the stem,
Install the steering stem upper bracket.
Temporarily tighten the steering stem
head center bolt.
`
Tighten
the
steering
stem
upper
clamp
bolt.
Procéder
comme
indiqué
ci-après
pour
ajuster
et
contróler
la
potence
de
direc-
tion.
+ Utiliser la clé à douille pour écrou de
roue
et
une
clé
dynamométrique
pour
bloquer l'écrou.
` Faire bouger la direction d'avant en
arrière de cinq à six reprises pour facili-
ter le positionnement des roulements.
+ Desserrer l'écrou de potence de direc-
tion de O m-kg et le resserrer légèrement
pour que tout jeu disparaisse à la
potance.
- Remonter le support supérieur de
potence et serrer provisoirement le
boulon central de haut de potence.
` Serrer le boulon supérieur de fixation de
potence.

tighten

steering
stem

center
bolt.
When
the
front
fork
is
moved
back
and
forth,
it
must
move
freely,
If
there
is
any
play
in
the
forks,
loosen
the
center
bolt,
tighten
the
stem
nut
slightly
and
retorque
the
center
bolt.
+ Install the handlebars.
+
Desserrer
légèrement
l'écrou
de
potence
et
resserrer
un
peu
le
boulon
central
de
haut
de
potence.
La fourche doit légirement bouger
quand elle est bougée d'avant en arriére.
Si aucun jeu n'est relevé, desserrer le
boulon central, serrer légèrement l'écrou
de potence et resserrer le boulon central
au couple spécifié.
Remonter le guidon,
