Hex Collar
Female VCR Split-Nut
1.
Place two female split nut halves
around the VCR
gland shaft so their ends are flush. Slide the split
halves against the back of the gland flange.
2. Thread the larger opening of the hex collar over the
split halves by turning it counterclockwise. Tighten
hex collar slightly using an 11/16 in. wrench on the
split nut halves and a 3/4 in. wrench on the hex col-
lar.
3. To remove, turn the hex collar clockwise.
You must use a set with one split nut half marked
with the Swagelok logo and one split nut half
marked with the words “VCR PAT’D.”

Female VCR Split-Nut Installation

Position Female Split Nut Halves

Place two female split nut halves around the VCR gland shaft, aligning ends flush, and slide them against the gland flange back.

Attach and Tighten Hex Collar

Thread hex collar counterclockwise over split halves. Tighten slightly using specified wrenches on split nut halves and hex collar.

Remove Hex Collar

To remove, turn the hex collar in a clockwise direction to detach the VCR Split-Nut assembly.

Male VCR Split-Nut Installation

Position Male Split Nut Halves

Place two male split nut halves around the VCR gland shaft, aligning ends flush, and press the halves together.

Slide Male Split Halves

Slide the assembled male split nut halves against the back of the VCR gland flange.

Separate Male Split Halves for Removal

To remove, use a flat-blade screwdriver to carefully separate the two male split nut halves.
