Problem
Cutterbar becomes ab-
normally warm.
Crop slides under the
conditioning rotor.

Machine is unstable
when working on hilly
ground.
Transmission banging,
(Machines with wide
angle drive).
Friction clutch on the
P.T.O. shaft heating/slip-
ping.
Possible cause
Too much oil in the cutterbar.
Incorrect oil used.
Throwing wings not fitted on the
cutting discs.
Throwing wings worn.
The machine is not properly balanc-
ed.
Front P.T.O. shaft not adjusted cor-
rectly.
Is correct coupling fitted.
Too low r.p.m.
Worn friction discs.
Correction
Check the oil level.
Change oil to correct type.
Fit throwing wings.
Replace throwing wings.
Fit balancing weight.
Adjust front shaft as stated.
Check the coupling size.
Increase r.p.m. of P.T.O./engine.
Replace friction discs.

*) Striping problems may occur, especially in short, tough spring crops which are harvested under unsuitable
weather conditions. Always check that the rotor's Y-fingers are in good order, that the conditioner plate is not
damaged and that the cutting disc knives are sharp.
