Protection Mode
A
sophisticated
monitoring circuit controls the operation of
the
amplifier. When an error
is
detected, the amplifier shuts down
into
protection
mode immediately and indicates the
status
by
flashing
the TACT
logo.
Protection mode can be triggered by:
1.
Overload/short-circuit
of
the speaker outputs
(limits
current to approx. 35 Amps)
2. DC
defected at the speaker outputs, this can be due to
extreme
program
material.
3. lnternal
power
failure burned luses
etc.
4. Mains supply voltage is too low or
too
high.
5.
Overheating of the amplifier.
Most of the above mentioned error conditions
are
normally
temporary. When the Millennium
goes
into
protection
mode,
switch off the
power
and inspect the amplifier.
Check
the
speaker cables, feel if the cover is very hot. Turn on the amplifier
again to
see
if normal operation mode may
be
resumed.
lf
the error condition
persists,
the
Millennium
will return to
pro-
tection mode immediately. lf this is the case,
the
Millennium
needs authorized
service.
.
No
bridge coupling is
possible.
.
The frequency response
of the
Millennium
extends down to
DC. Playback
of material with extreme infrasonic
program
material may
cause the amp to
go
into
protection
mode
in
order to
protect
the speakers.
