A TASER StrikeLight stun ashlight is not a substitute for other preventive self-protection
actions such as ensuring doors are locked, and parking in well-lighted areas.
To drive-stun an attacker, perform these actions:
1 Move the ashlight button to the forward (ON) position.
2 Press the stun button.
3 Drive the electrodes into the attacker.
When using the drive-stun, push (drive) the front of the ashlight rmly against
the body of the attacker. Simply touching the ashlight against the attacker is
not sucient. The attacker is likely to recoil and try to get away from the device.
It is necessary to aggressively drive the front of the ashlight into the attacker for
maximum eect.
Due to automatic reex actions, most people will struggle to separate from the
ashlight. It may be dicult to maintain contact between the ashlight and the
attacker.
If the drive-stun is not eective, evaluate the location of the drive-stun, consider an
additional cycle to a dierent pressure point, consider alternative force options, or
consider eeing from the attacker.
Function Test
TASER International recommends conducting a function test every 90 days. The function test
is done to verify that the device is working properly.
