Function Description

The TCL Android TV is a smart television designed to offer a wide range of entertainment and connectivity options. Its core function is to display television broadcasts and content from connected devices. Beyond traditional TV viewing, it integrates the Android TV platform, allowing users to access internet applications (apps), stream online videos, and utilize smart features like Google Play, Netflix, and other recommended apps. The TV supports both wired and wireless network connections, enabling seamless access to online content. It also includes advanced features such as PVR (Personal Video Recorder) for recording TV programs, Time Shift for pausing and rewinding live TV, and HbbTV (Hybrid broadcast broadband TV) for interactive television services. For enhanced control, the TV supports hands-free voice control (on some models) and can integrate with smart home devices like Amazon Echo or Echo Dot via "Works with Alexa" functionality.

Usage Features

Initial Setup:

  • System Settings: Adjusts device settings like Network & Internet, Accounts & Sign-In, Apps, and Device Preferences.
  • TV Options Menu: Adjusts TV-specific settings such as picture and sound.
  • Instant Power On: Enables faster TV startup from standby, though it increases standby power consumption.
  • T-Link (CEC): Allows control of CEC-compatible devices connected via HDMI, including auto power on and auto standby.
  • EPG (Electronic Programme Guide): Displays scheduled digital TV programs, allowing users to navigate, select, and view program information.
  • Bluetooth Function: Connects Bluetooth audio devices, mice, or keyboards to the TV (on some models).
  • Time Shift: Pauses, fast forwards, and rewinds live TV using a connected USB drive.
  • PVR (Personal Video Recorder): Records TV programs to a connected USB drive.

Maintenance Features

Cleaning:

Battery Precautions:

  • Use only specified battery types with correct polarity.
  • Do not mix new and used batteries or use rechargeable ones.
