international
standard
for
digital
communication
of
electronic

instrument
data.
This
means
that
any
equipment
which
has
a
MIDI
terminal—such
as
electronic
musical
instruments
and
personal
computers—can
easily
exchange
digital
data
with
other
MIDI
equipment
without
resorting
to
complicated
conversions
or
connections.
