12.1.2 Timer recording
By using the DVR timer, you can automatically record programmes on an inserted
USB storage medium while you are out. Your device also has a channel-switching
timer. In terms of their programming, these timer types dier only in name. You can
programme timers, using the EPG, for example.
Ensure that the receiver has read the correct time. During operation this is
displayed in the info box If this is not the case, switch the receiver to a major
channel such as ZDF for approx. 30 seconds, to acquire the time.
12.1.3 Timeshi function
The Timeshi function allows you to record and play back at the same time. This
enables "timeshied" viewing. Hence you can start watching the beginning of a
recording and skip through any sections already recorded (e.g. advertising slots). The
live broadcast of the programme continues to be recorded at the same time.
12.1.4 Starting the timeshi function
> Press the Pause/Play buon. The programme playback is paused and recording
of the ongoing programme starts simultaneously. The recording continues in
the background, and a freeze frame image is displayed on the screen with a
message in the upper right area of the screen and in the info box.
> To continue playing back the programme from this point, press the Pause/
Play buon again.
You are now watching the programme with a time delay to the live broadcast
(Timeshi), while the programme continues to be recorded in the background.
