When the device is not in use, remove the plug from the socket. Pull the plug
and not the cable. Remove the plug before a storm. Remove the plug if the
device is not going to be used for a prolonged period, e.g. before going away
on a long trip. The heat generated during operation must be dissipated by
means of adequate air circulation. Therefore, the device must not be covered
or installed in a closed cabinet. Ensure there is a free space of at least 10 cm
around the device.
Only use the power supply unit provided.
4.3.3 Using headphones
Hearing impairment!
Do not listen to the radio at a high volume with headphones. Doing so can cause
permanent hearing impairment. Turn down the radio volume to the lowest volume
before using headphones.
Only use headphones with a 3.5 mm stereo jack plug.
> Insert the headphone plug into the headphone jack socket (12) on the
device. Sound will now only be heard via the headphones, and the speaker is
switched to mute.
> If you would like to use the speakers again, unplug the headphones from the
headphone jack on the radio.
4.4 General device functionality
4.4.1 Switching on the device
> In order to guarantee good DAB+ / FM reception, please fully extend the
telescopic antenna (11) located on the back of the device. To do so, please
refer to Section 4.3.1.
> First prepare the DIGITRADIO 307 for operation as described in Sections 4.3.1
and 4.3.2.
> Press the On / Standby buon (1) on the device to turn on the DIGITRADIO
307.
Aer switching on the device for the first time, a full station scan via DAB+ is
launched automatically. The first station in the station list is then played.
4.4.2 Switching o the device
> By briefly pressing the On / Standby buon, you can switch the device to
standby mode. [Standby] appears briefly on the display. The date and time
are shown on the display. The display brightness in standby mode can be
adjusted by following the instructions in Section 10.2.
