Coverage referred to the PMR band
The performance of the transceivers depends on the environmental and atmo-
spheric condions. Environmental factors such as hills, buildings, trees, foliage can
decrease the coverage. Opmal performance is obtained in the open eld while the
ow rate can be reduced, for example inside a car or building.
Typically the coverage in the city, in the presence of buildings is 1 or 2 Km.
In the open eld, but with the presence of trees, houses, foliage, the coverage is
of 4-6 Km. In open eld, on sight and without any kind of interference, such as
for example in the mountains, the coverage can be even more than 12 km.
In Italy PMR446 devices are subject to a declaraon of ownership and an annual contribuon. To
obtain the forms and procedures for obtaining the general authorizaon, contact the Territorial
Inspectorate in your regional capital or visit the website of the Ministry of Communicaons. The
use of the apparatus is allowed only aer sending the le to the Territorial Inspectorate . We
recommend keeping a copy of this pracce.
Frequencies are shared and therefore, in the event of intense local trac, interfer-
ence and overlapping on the channels may occur.
This can be remedied by changing channels and / or using CTCSS tones or DCS code.
Their use is not mandatory, but it is strongly recommended.
