Using the oven door as a seat

Do not stand or sit on the oven door.

The control panel

Function selector (according to models)

Use to select the type of heating for the oven. Options include conventional, hot air, bottom heating, grilling.

Temperature selector (according to models)

Use to set the oven temperature or grill setting. Range is 50-270°C.

Grill levels

Indicator light shows when oven is heating. Goes out during pauses.

Timer with switch-off function (according to models)

Use the timer to set a time of up to 120 minutes for automatic switch-off.

Control buttons and display panel (according to models)

Timer button

Use this button to set the timer.

Clock button

Use this button to set time of day, cooking time, and completion time.

Minus button

Use this button to reduce the values set.

Key button

Use this button to switch the childproof lock on and off.

Plus button

Use this button to increase the values set.

Types of heating (according to models)

Top and bottom heating

Ensures even heat distribution from top and bottom. Ideal for cakes and roasts.

Hot air

Fan distributes heat evenly. Ideal for cakes, pizza on two shelves, and drying food.

Bottom heat

Reheat or brown meals. Suitable for preserving food.

Hot air grilling

Grill element and fan alternate. Crisps and browns meat on all sides.

Radiant grill - small surface

Middle section of grill element heats. Ideal for small quantities. Saves energy.

Radiant grill - large area

Entire area under grill element heats. Ideal for cooking several steaks, sausages, fish, toast.

Oven and shelving accessories

Accessories

Shelf can be inserted at 5 heights. Remove shelves easily without tipping.

Wire rack

For ovenware, cake tins, roasts, grilling, and frozen meals.

Enamel baking tray

For cakes, pastries, frozen food, roasts. Catches drips during grilling.

Handle

For removing the baking tray.

Cooling fan

Before using for the first time

If the symbol and three zeros are flashing in the display

Check if symbol and three zeros flash. Set the time using clock and +/- buttons.

Heating up the oven

Heat empty oven with door closed to remove new oven smell. Set function and temperature.

Pre-cleaning the accessories

Wash accessories thoroughly with soapy water and a cleaning cloth before use.

Setting the oven

Setting procedure

Select heating type using function selector and temperature using temperature selector.

Switching off

Switch off the function selector when the meal is ready.

Changing the setting

You may change the temperature or grill setting at any time.

The oven is automatically disconnected (according to models)

Example: 45 minute duration

Programme settings, then enter cooking time (duration). Oven starts working.

The time has elapsed

A high-pitched sound signals. Oven switches itself off automatically.

Cancel the adjustment

Turn the alarm once again to position ⊙.

Warning

Once the alarm has gone off, turn it once again to position ⊙.

If the oven is to switch off automatically (according to models)

Example: Cooking time of 45 minutes

Perform settings 1 & 2. Set cooking time (duration). Press clock button, cooking time symbol will flash.

4. Set the cooking time using the + or – button.

Set cooking time. Oven switches on after seconds. I symbol lights up.

The cooking time has elapsed

A signal sounds. Oven switches off. Press button twice and switch off selector.

Changing the setting

Press clock button. Change cooking time using + or – button.

Cancelling the setting

Press clock button. Press – button until display is zero. Switch off selector.

Setting the cooking time when the clock time is hidden

Press clock button twice and perform setting as described in item 4.

If the oven is to switch on and off automatically (according to models)

Example: Imagine – it's 10:45 a.m. The meal will take 45 minutes to cook and must be ready at 12:45 pm.

Perform settings 1 to 4. Oven starts. Press clock button until lend symbol flashes.

6. Use the + button to set a later end time.

Setting is adopted after seconds. Display shows end time until oven switches on.

The cooking time has elapsed

A signal sounds. Oven switches off. Press button twice and switch off function selector.

Note

Change setting while symbol flashes. Setting adopted if symbol lights up permanently.

Time (according to models)

Setting procedure

When first connected or after power cut, set the time. Function selector must be off.

2. Set the time using the + or – button.

Time selected is adopted after a few seconds.

Changing the time e.g. from summer to winter time

Press clock button twice and change time using + or – button.

Hiding the time

Hide time display. It is only visible when performing settings. Change basic setting.

Timer (according to models)

Setting procedure

Example: 20 minutes. Press timer button. Symbol will flash.

2. Set the timer period using the + or – button.

Set timer period. Timer starts after seconds. Symbol lights up, counts down visibly.

The time has elapsed

A signal sounds. Press timer button. Timer display goes out.

Changing the timer period

Press timer button. Change time using + or – button.

Cancelling the setting

Press timer button. Press – button until display is zero.

The timer and cooking time count down simultaneously

Symbols light up. Timer counts down. Call up cooking time, end time, or time by pressing clock button.

Childproof lock (according to models)

Locking the oven

Press key button until symbol appears. Takes approx. 4 seconds.

Unlocking

Press key button until symbol goes out.

Notes

Can set timer/clock when locked. Setting lost on power cut.

Basic settings

Changing the basic settings

Press clock and + buttons simultaneously to set time display foreground.

2. Change the basic setting using the + or – button.

Change basic setting. Confirm with clock button. Basic setting for signal duration appears.

You do not wish to change all the basic settings

Press clock button to move to next setting. Change reset time. Press clock button to finish.

Correcting settings

Change settings again at any time.

Care and cleaning

Oven exterior

Wipe with water and washing-up liquid. Dry with soft cloth. Avoid caustic/abrasive substances.

Appliances with stainless steel fronts

Remove limescale, grease immediately. Use stainless steel care products. Test on small area first.

Oven

Never use coarse scouring pads. Oven cleaner only on enamelled surfaces.

Switching on the oven light

Set the function selector to .

Detaching the oven door

The oven door can be easily detached.

Cleaning the oven floor

Use hot soapy water or vinegar. Oven cleaner for very dirty ovens. Use in a cold oven.

Cleaning the glass cover for the oven light

Best to clean glass cover with washing-up liquid.

Cleaning the rails (according to models)

To unhook the rails:

Lift rails at front, unhook, pull forward, and remove.

To hook rails back into position:

Insert at rear, push back, hook at front. Recess (a) must be at bottom.

Troubleshooting

The oven does not work.

Possible cause: Blown fuse. Remedy: Check fuse box.

The clock display flashes.

Possible cause: Power cut. Remedy: Check kitchen light switches.

Replacing the oven light

Method

Disconnect appliance. Place towel in oven. Unscrew glass cover. Replace bulb. Screw cover back. Remove towel, connect.

Replace if damaged. Specify E number and FD number when ordering.

Baking tips

You wish to cook to your own recipe.

How to check that a sponge cake is cooked properly.

Pierce cake with cocktail stick. If it comes out clean, cake is done.

Close door when grilling. Use meat 2-3 cm thick. Place meat on wire grill, pan at level 1. Turn pieces after two-thirds time.

Tips for roasting and grilling

Use meat thermometer or spoon test. Press down; if firm, it's ready.

Energy saving tips

If you have several cakes to bake it is best to bake them one after the other.

The oven is still warm, shortening baking time for the second cake.

Acrylamide in food

Where does acrylamide come from?

Formed in food itself during preparation, influenced by high temps, low water, intensive browning.

What sort of foods are affected?

Forms mostly in grain and potato products prepared at high temps, e.g., crisps, chips, toast, bread.

What can you do?

In general

Avoid high acrylamide levels by keeping cooking times short. 'Brown rather than burn'.

Baking

Set temp to max 180°C (hot air). Cookies max 190°C. Egg/egg yolk reduces formation.

Test dishes

Baking

In accordance with DIN 44547 and EN 60350. Values apply to dishes placed in a cold oven.

Grilling

The values in the table apply to dishes placed in a cold oven.
