Overview

This document describes the NEFTIS coffee maker, available in both standard and programmable models.

Function Description

The NEFTIS coffee maker is designed for domestic use to brew coffee. Programmable models offer additional features for setting the clock and scheduling automatic brewing.

Important Technical Specifications

The coffee maker uses cold water and No. 4 filter paper. The water tank has a water level gauge to prevent overfilling. It operates on standard electrical voltage, which should match the appliance's specifications.

Usage Features

First Use: Before first use, run the appliance once with 1 liter of water (no coffee) to flush the water circuit.

Making Coffee (Illustrations 1-4):

  1. Place the coffee maker on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface.
  2. Use only cold water and No. 4 filter paper. Do not use the jug without its lid.
  3. Do not exceed the maximum water level indicated on the water level gauge.
  4. Close the lid (a) while the coffee maker is operating.
  5. The coffee maker is equipped with a drip-stop device, allowing you to serve coffee before brewing is complete. Replace the jug quickly to prevent overflow.
  6. Coffee can be reheated by placing the jug (depending on the model) in a microwave.

Models with a Permanent Filter (f):

  • Place ground coffee directly into the permanent filter.
  • After use, dispose of coffee grounds and rinse the filter under the tap.

Models with a Thermocontrol Indicator Jug:

  • This feature indicates if the coffee inside the jug is at a suitable drinking temperature.
  • The indicator is located on the jug's protective collar.
  • A red indicator means the coffee is at a suitable temperature.
  • A black indicator means the coffee is too cold.

Models with an Insulated Flask:

  • To keep coffee warm longer, rinse the insulated flask with hot water before use.
  • Screw down the lid fully (clockwise) when brewing coffee and keeping it warm.
  • To serve coffee, unscrew the lid a quarter-turn.

Programming Your Coffee Maker (Programmable Models): When switched on, the time display flashes "88:88", and the cup and clock symbols are steady.

Setting/Changing Current Time:

  1. Press and hold the prog auto button for more than 2 seconds. The clock symbol and time display will flash.
  2. Set the hours by repeatedly pressing the auto button, or hold it down to cycle continuously.
  3. Press the prog button once. The minutes display will flash.
  4. Set the minutes by repeatedly pressing the auto button, or hold it down to cycle continuously.
  5. Confirm the time by pressing the prog button once. The clock symbol disappears. If not confirmed within 30 seconds, changes are canceled, and the appliance reverts to the existing time.

Manual Operation (Start/Stop):

  • Press the On/Off button once to start; the LED (l) lights up.
  • Press the On/Off button once to stop; the LED (l) goes out.
  • Manual operation cancels any programmed automatic start.

Programming Automatic Start (after clock is set):

Pausing/Resuming Brewing: You can pause and resume the coffee-making cycle at any time by pressing the On/Off button. If not stopped manually, heating will automatically stop two hours after starting for models with a conventional jug, and after 15 minutes for models with an insulated flask.

Canceling a Programmed Start:

  • Press the auto button once. The cup symbol disappears.
  • To confirm a new automatic start, press the auto button once; the cup symbol reappears.

Maintenance Features

  4. Clean with a damp cloth or sponge.
  5. Never place the appliance in water or under running water.

Descaling:

  • It is important to descale your coffee maker every 40 cycles.

  • Pour the solution into the tank (b) and run the coffee maker (without coffee).
  • Allow the equivalent of one cup to run into the jug or insulated flask (c), then stop the appliance.
  • Leave the descaling product to work for one hour.
  • Restart the coffee maker to complete the cycle.
  • Rinse the coffee maker by running 2 or 3 cycles with 1 liter of water.
  • The warranty does not cover coffee makers that malfunction or cease to operate due to lack of regular descaling.

Troubleshooting:

  • Check that the appliance is plugged in correctly.
  • Check that the switch or programmer (on certain models) is switched on.
  • If water percolates too slowly or there is excessive noise, descale your coffee maker.
