Introduction
Use this Adjustment P rocedure to restore the
F
G
504to
original performance requirements
. This Adjustment
Procedure need
not
be
p erformed unless the instrument
fails
to
meet the P erformance R equirements of the
electrical characteristics listed in the Specification
sec-
tion, or if the P erformance Check procedure cannot be
completed satisfactorily
. If the instrument h as undergone
repairs,
the A d justment P rocedure is recommen d ed .
Satisfactory completion of all adjustment
steps in this
p rocedure ensures
that the instrument will meet the
P erformance R eq uirements .
Test E quipment R equired
Thetest equipment (or equivalent) listed i nTable4-1 is
required for adjustment of the F G 504 . Specifications
given for the test equipment are the minimum
necessary
for accurate adjustment
.
All
test equipment is assumed to
be correctly calibrated
and operating within
specifications .
If other test equipment is substituted, calibration setup
may n eed to be altered to meet the requirements of the
e q uipme n t use d .

through extender cables to α TM 500-Series power
module (TM503 or larger) . E xtender cable connectors
mustbe oriented with t he top of one connectortowardthe
top of the F G 504 and t he top of
the other connector

the power module (do not attempt to
operate the F G 504 with only one extender cable) .

I nstall all required TM 500-Series test
equipment in
p ower modules . Connect
p
ower
modules and other
powered test
equipment to an a p propriate p ower input
source ;
turn t hem on and allow at least 30 minutes warmup
before starting the adjustment p rocedure . All adjustments
must be made at an ambient temperature b etween +20°C
and +30° C .
