Why does my Ten-Tec SSB-CW-AM have numerous heterodyne signals?
    • J
      James AlexanderAug 14, 2025
If you are experiencing numerous heterodyne or 'birdie' signals while using an indoor or active antenna with your Ten-Tec Receiver, the antenna might be too close to the receiver. It may be picking up display multiplexing harmonics. Position the antenna at least 15 feet away from the receiver and use a coax feed.

What to do if stored frequencies are not in memory on Ten-Tec SSB-CW-AM Receiver?
    • B
      Bryan FrederickAug 18, 2025
If the stored frequencies are not saved in the memory of your Ten-Tec Receiver after turning it off and on, the memory backup battery might be bad or not installed. Check the battery snap connector as well.

What to do if signals seem very weak on Ten-Tec SSB-CW-AM Receiver?
    • E
      eandersonAug 21, 2025
If signals appear very weak on your Ten-Tec Receiver compared to other receivers: 1. Ensure that coils T6, T9, L10, L11, and T7 have been peaked for maximum signal strength. 2. Connect a 0.1µF capacitor directly from the antenna to the 1st Mixer input (cathode of PIN diodes D13 or D14). If this significantly increases signal strength, there's an error in the shield bandpass filter section.

Why is there a very strong signal at 455 kHz on my Ten-Tec SSB-CW-AM Receiver?
    • E
      emilybeasleyAug 25, 2025
A very strong signal at 455 kHz on your Ten-Tec Receiver is normal. The 455 kHz product detector oscillator (Y2) is being picked up at the RF input.
