2. Connecting the Keyboard to a Computer (Soundcard)
For transmitting MIDI data from MIDI Master PRO to a soundcard inside your computer,
you need the special MIDI-KIT adaptor cable. Plug the 15pin D-SUB Connector to the
GAME/MIDI-Port of your Soundcard and the 5pin MIDI IN-Connector to the MIDI OUT Port
of the MIDI Master PRO. The other plug (MIDI IN) is for connecting external MIDI devices
to your computer (e.g. MIDI-Expander, Synthesizer or Sampler). Be sure, that the
Soundcard is correctly installed and launch a MIDI-Software (for example PROCYON).
Finally select the MIDI drivers of your soundcard (for example MPU-IN and MPU-OUT) and
play the keyboard.
3. MIDI transmit channel selector:
Pressing the MIDI channel button allows you to select the transmitting channel for your
keyboard. When the Midi channel sub-menu in the display shows 1, it means that the
current MIDI transmit channel is 1. Pressing the Midi channel button, 2. and the ENTER
button to change the MIDI transmit channel from 1 to 2. Using this procedure to select
any MIDI channel from 1 to 16.
4. Program change +/- buttons:
When you press the button to turn on the keyboard, the Prg (Program Change) sub-menu
in the display is 1 (which is Grand Piano patch on the GM sound list). Since your MIDI
Master PRO features Touch Response, it allows you to control the volume of each note by
playing hard of soft. Beside, when pressing any combination of numeric keys then enter
key, you can select any patch number between 0-127.
5. CC-00 and CC-32 (bank Change) buttons:
These buttons are designed to select different sound banks in different MIDI instruments.
Normally, there are 128 sounds (patches) in a sound bank, since comtemporary
synthesizers and sound modules offer several sound banks containing a wide variety of
sound (patch) and effects, there are 16,384 possibility to select and store sound
informations in your own bank.
6. Velocity button:
You may use the velocity and dataentry slide to set the velocity of being played notes (an
intensity setting from 0-63). To set the velocity level, a higher velocity value makes the
notes sound louder and brighter, a lower values let the notes sound softer and lighter.
Since MIDI Master PRO is a velocity sensitive keyboard and it detects how quick a key
moves when velocity message is first passed, you may set your keyboards velocity level
by using the data entry slide.
