(15) Measure the quantity of fluid that y ou collected f rom the left wi ng side of the airplane (left
inboard wi ng panel, left mid wing panel, left outboard wing panel, a nd left wing s t ru t panel).
(16) Measure the qua ntity of fluid that you collected from the rig ht wing side of the airplane (right
inboard wing panel, rig ht mid wing panel, right out board wing panel, and right win g strut pan el).
(17) To mak e sure that there is the same fl ow from one wing t o the other, make sure that you
collected 52 ounces +20 or −10 ounc es, (1550 ml +600 ml or −3 00 m l) from eac h wing. The
quantity of fluid collected from one side of the airplane should be within 20 ounc es (600 ml)
of the quant ity collect ed from the other side of the airplane.
(18) Put the FLUID CONTROL PR IMARY switch to the OFF position.
CAUTION: Do not ope rate the windshi eld p ump for more than 10 seconds continuously
and the re m ust b e no less t han 10 seconds between pu mp operations .
(19) Put the MA X FLOW s witc h to the W INDSHIELD position and release th e sprin g-loaded switch.
(20) Make sure that the fluid flows out o f the w indshield spray collec tion tube.
NOTE: If the fluid does not flow out of the wi nds hield spray c ollection tube, you can move the
MAX FLOW switch t o and from the W INDSHI E LD position t hree or fo ur t imes .
(21) Put the EXTERNA L POWER switch t o the OF F position.
(22) Disconnect external power from the airplane.
(23) Open the TKS fluid tank drain valve and let the t ank drain c ompletely.
(24) Close the TKS fluid t ank drain valve.
(25) Clean T K S fluid and remove collection equipment from the airplane as necessary.
(26) Remove the fluid c ollector system (plastic guttering) below th e pane ls.
D. Do a test of t he windsh ield ice detect light, w ing inspection lights, and nav lights as follows:
(1) Make sure that the WING ICE DET LIGHT and the NAV LIGHT circ uit breakers are engaged.
(2) Connect externa l power and pu t the E XTE RNAL POW E R switch in the B US pos ition.
(3) Move the W ING LIGHT to t he O N position and mak e sure that you can s ee the light fr om the
wing inspection lig ht on the leading edge of the left wing.
(4) Move the WING LIGHT to OF F.
(5) Move the NAV switch light to ON.
(6) Make sure the navigation ligh ts on both w ings come on.
(7) Make sure that y ou can see the light f rom the windsh ield ice detect light on the wi nds hiel d f rom
thetopoftheglareshield.
(8) Move the NAV light switc h to O FF.
(9) If one or m ore of the lights do not operate correctly, troubl es hoot t he wiring in acco rdanc e with
the w iring diagram manual. (Refer t o the 208 Wiring Diagram Manual.)
12. Install eq uipm ent tha t you removed for a ccess. (Refer to t he Model 208 Mainte nanc e M anual.)
13. To t he panels that you remov ed for ac c es s , apply U544055S Sealant and petrolatum parting agent . (Refer
to the 208 Maintenance Manual, C hapter 6, A ccess Plates and Panels Identification - Desc r iption and
Operation, and Chapter 20, Fuel, Weath er, and High-Temperatu re Sealing - Maintenanc e Practices.)
14. Remove maintenance warni ng tags and connect t he airplane battery.
15. Do the TKS anti-ice equipment preflight c hec k that follows:
A. To m ak e sure of t he condition and t he security of all the c omponents of the TKS system , do the
PREFLIGH T INSPECTION check list from the K nown Icing Equipment Supplement .
