with the sh i pment of T KS uid. If you cannot locate t he MSDS, contact
your supplier of the TKS fluid to obtain the MSDS.
WARNING: Make sure that yo u use applicable eye protecti on when you wo rk near
the ice protec tio n system. The system uses high pressure in the lines
to operate correctly, and the fluid pressure stays in the system lines
until it is released. If you d o no t use appli cable eye pro t ection, fluid
under pressure can h it y our eyes and cause damage when you do
work on the system.
WARNING: Di scard all unwanted TKS uid and/o r dirty cloths correctly. TKS

(2) Slowly loosen t he connection at t he necessary fitting to release high pressure in the s y stem .
WARNING: Make sure that you remove ice protection uid fro m the flo or surfaces
where passengers and personnel walk. Th e flui d can make surfaces
slick.
(3) Remove all ice protection uid from areas where people wal k. S ince there i s leakage of fluid
from the panels f or a while after the system is no longer in operation, mak e su re that you
collect fluid that drips f rom the airplane or continue to remove fluid from the floor until there
is no more leakage.
CAUTION: Never us e unapproved ice protection fluids in the ice prot ec ti on system. Never
use a thicke ned ant i-ice uid or one that i s made for use on the r unway, in
automobiles, or on pa rked airplanes. If you us e fluids that do not meet the
DTD406B specificat ion, you will do damage to the membranes in th e porous
panels and other system compon ents.
CAUTION: Use only clean, filtered fluid in the TKS system. C ontamination will cause fluid
blockage and/or damage to t he porous panel.
(4) Use only i ce protection fluids that m eet t he DT D 406B s pec ific ation in the ice protec tion system .
