10 Do a check f or the accuracy of the fluid quantity indi c ation to make sure that it
shows within 1.50 gallons of 11. 7.
C. Do t he pum p operat ion systems check as follows:
CAUTION: During this check, if you see leaka ge of fluid at one or more c onnec t ions in the
system, t urn the a nti-ice system off, repai r connections, and rem ove all l eakage.
(1) Make sure that t he shutoff v alves are open and that the other ends of the two t es t lines are in
five-gallon buckets.
(2) Make sure that the E X TE RNA L PO WE R switch is at t he BUS position.
(3) Put the FLUID CONTROL PRIMARY swi tch t o the HIGH pos ition and let the metering pump
#1 operate until fl uid flows into each bucket.
(a) If the pump does not fill, you must do as follows:

Put the FLUID CONTROL PRIMARY s witch t o the OFF position.

Remove the 0.50 - inch diameter line t hat goes int o the fusel age from the filter pallet
and put it in a buc k et.

Put the FLUID C ONTROL PRIMARY switch to the HIGH position.

After the fl uid be gins to flow out, put the FLUID CONTROL PRIMARY switch t o
the OFF position.

Put the FLUID C ONTR OL BAC K U P switc h to th e ON position.

After t he fluid begin s t o flow out again , put the FLUID CONTROL BACKUP switc h to
the OFF position.

Connect t he 0. 50-inch diameter line.

Put th e FLUID CONT ROL P RIMA RY switch to the HIGH position and let the
metering pump #1 o perat e until fluid flo ws into each bucket.
(b) If flui d does not fl ow from every test line, or if fluid fl ows only from the empenn age test
line do as follows:

With the FLUI D CONTROL PRIMA RY switch in t he HIGH position, close the shutoff
valve in t he empennage test line t o force fluid out of t he other test lines.

Work f r om the rear t o the front and c lose the s hut off val ve in the left.

After you h av e made s ure that fluid has flowed from each test line, open all o f t he
test l ine shutoff valves and con tin ue with the fu nc tional test.
(4) Collect flui d t hat comes out of the lines for on e minute and make sure that the fl uid you
collected is 34 ounces, −3. 38 ou nc es or +6.76 ounc es (1000 ml, − 100 ml or +200 m l).
NOTE: During t his test, it is pos s ible t hat fluid will not flow equally out of all o f th e test lines
(5) Make sure that the white A - ICE H IG H message is on.
(6) Disengage th e PRIMARY ANTI-ICE circuit breaker.
(7) Make s ure that the pum p goes off.
(8) Put the F LUID CONTROL PRIMARY switch to the O FF position.
(9) Engage the P RI MARY ANTI-ICE circuit breaker.
(10) Put t he FLUID CONTROL BACKUP s witc h to the ON po sition and let the me tering pum p
#2 operate until fl uid flows into each bucket.
(11) Collect the fl uid that come s out of t he lines for one minute and make sure that the fluid you
collected is 34 ounces, −3. 38 ou nc es or +6.76 ounc es (1000 ml, − 100 ml or +200 m l).
