(2) Make sure that conditions are in accordance with Table 6.

(3) Put a five-gall on bucket below the prop slin ger. Pu t one blade of t he prop vertical and down
and put the buck et under that blade.
(4) Add T KS uid to the tank as necessary until the indicator in the sight gl as s is above the
minimum departure mark.
(5) Put the EXTERNAL POWER switch to the BUS position.
(6) Put the F LUID CONTROL P RIMA RY s witch t o the HIGH position.
(7) Wait until the fluid starts to come out all the holes along the ful l length of the panel.
(8) Make sure th at t he fluid comes out of all of t he panels and the propeller slinger.
NOTE: Actual uid flow f rom the porous panels during this test will be different at different
times as the ambien t tempe ra ture changes. If there is no indication of fluid flow on
one or more panels, t hat panel must b e purg ed again.
(9) Turn the propel ler until eac h bl ade (one a t a time) i s vertic al and down and make sure that flui d
comes out of the feed t ube at each blade.
(10) Put the FLUID CONTROL PRIMARY switch to th e OFF position.
(11) Discard the TKS fluid from the buckets you collected it in during the fluid purge.
(12) Put the FLUID CONTROL PRIMARY s witch t o the HIGH position.
(13) Let the s y stem operate for v e minutes.
(14) Put the FLUID CONTROL PRIMARY switch to th e OFF position.
(15) Measure the q uantity of fluid th at you coll ec ted from the left wing side of the airplane (left
inboard wing panel, left m id w ing panel, left outboard wing p anel, and left wing strut panel).
(16) Measure the quantity of uid that you collected from the right wing side of t he airplan e (right
inboard wing pane l, right mid wing pan el, right outboard wing panel, and righ t wing strut panel).
