LOG SPLITTER OPERATION
1. Plantheworkareabeforeusingthelogsplitter.Havethelogspositionedwheretheycanbeeasily
reached.
2. Thelogsplitteraccommodateslogsupto52cminlength.Thelogsplitterwillworkmostefcientlyon
dry,seasonedlogs.
3. Positionthelogsplittersecurelyonlevelgroundoronasecurestand.Ifnecessarystabilisethe
wheelstopreventthelogsplitterfrommovingduringuse.Ifusinganextensioncable,dosoinasafe
waytoavoiddamagingthecableorcreatingahazard.
4. Beforeoperatingthelogsplitter,thebleedscrews(Fig3)shouldbe
loosenedby3-4turnstoallowtheairtogoinandoutoftheoiltank.
Re-tightenthescrewwhentheworkiscompleteorwhen moving
thelogsplittertoavoidoilleaks.
5. Alwaysplacelogsrmlyonthemainbody,lyingatagainstthelog
guideplates(RefAonFig1).Neverattempttosplitalogatanangle
andmakesurethelogswillnottwistorslipwhilstbeingsplit.
Ensurethesplittingwedge(RefJonFig1)andthelogpusher
(RefBonFig1)willmakecontactwiththelogsquarelyateachend.
6. Forreasonsofsafetythelogsplitterrequiresatwo-handedoperation.Switchontheelectricmotor
usingthegreenstartingswitch(RefFonFig1).Usingbothhandspressdownonbothoperating
handles(RefConFig1).Thelogsplitterwillcompressthelog,pushingagainstthesplittingwedge.
Whenthelogissplitreleasebothhandles–thiswillallowthelogpushertoretract.
WARNING – Never force the splitting of a log by sustaining the hydraulic pressure for more
than 5 seconds. Try re-positioning the log on the splitter.
