ClearSkim Installation

Choose Skimmer Location

Position the skimmer at the pond edge, opposite the waterfall, for optimal water circulation.

Excavation of Skimmer Area

Excavate the area for the skimmer box, ensuring it meets the pond liner at the correct depth.

Position & Backfill Skimmer

Ensure the skimmer is level and backfill around it with compacted soil to prevent settling.

Attach Rubber Liner to Skimmer

Secure the pond liner to the skimmer face using clips, silicone, and screws for the snout.

Install Black Screw Caps

Place screw caps on the inside of the skimmer box after attaching the snout and cutting the liner.

Install Submersible Pump

Attach check valve, position pump, and connect flexible pipe and power cord to the skimmer.

Finishing Touches

Insert skimmer mats and net, then place the natural landscape lid to disguise the skimmer.

ClearSkim™ Skimmer

The skimmer houses a skimmer net and a filter mat to capture larger leaves and smaller particles, respectively. It also contains a pump chamber where a submersible pump (not included) recirculates the cleaned water back to the pond, often via a waterfall filter.

Water Level: Designed to be set approximately 4.5" above the desired pond water level, resulting in a water level 1" below the top edge of the snout opening for optimal debris flow.
