No temperature control. Shorted thermocouple circuit.
Shorted solid state relay - over
temperature protection may be
activated.
Defective control - error message
on display may appear.
Thermocouple leads are reversed.
Check thermocouple connection
and/or replace thermocouple.
Replace solid state relay.
Return control for repair or replace.
Connect leads correctly (see
manual).
Slow heat-up. One or two heating elements are
burned out.
Heavy load in chamber.
Low line voltage.
Incorrect parameter setting "HL"
high power limit.
Wired improperly.
Wrong heating element.
Replace burned out elements.
Lighten load in chamber to allow
heat to circulate.
Install line of sufficient size and
proper voltage (isolate furnace from
other electrical loads).
Set "HL" to 100.
Check wiring diagram for correct
wiring of your furnace.
Install proper element.
Door switch does not cut power to
the furnace chamber.
Door switch is not functioning.
Mechanical relay contacts sticking.
Re-align or replace door safety
switch.
Replace relay.
Repeated element burnout. Chamber improperly loaded.
Heating harmful materials.
Overheating furnace.
Wrong element.
Oxidized thermocouple.
Contamination present from
previous burnout.
Wired improperly.
See loading procedures in start-up
procedure.
Enclose material in container.
Clean up spills on chamber.
Ventilate chamber by leaving door
cracked slightly open when heating
known harmful reagents.
Keep furnace under maximum
temperature. Closer supervision of
control setting.
Install proper element.
Replace thermocouple.
Replace insulation material.
Check wiring diagram for correct
wiring of your furnace.
