Design and Function
The described pump is a diaphragm pump with an electromagnetic linear drive.
The drive consists of two opposing fixed electromagnets and an axially movable
armature on which four permanent magnets are mounted. An alternating magnetic
field is generated when an AC voltage is applied to the two electromagnets connected
in parallel. The armature is attracted and repelled by the magnetic field resulting in a
linear oscillating motion with high efficiency and without frictional loss. A diaphragm is
fixed on both ends of the armature, which with a chamber block and valves, forms an
air pump.
The models AP-60N / AP-60/80 / AP-80H / AP-100 / AP-120 are equipped with an
integrated diaphragm protection switch, which turns off the pump in case of a
diaphragm failure.
An integrated thermal protective switch, which reactivates after cooling, protects the
pump from overheating:
AP-30 / AP-40: trigger temperature 135°C
AP-60N / AP-60/80: trigger temperature 100°C
AP-80H / AP-100 / AP-120: trigger temperature 135°C
Please ensure that nobody is put in danger by a sudden reactivation of
the thermal pretection switch!
