Do not exceed any applicable motorhome weight
ratings. Doing so could damage your motorhome or
affect handling and braking characteristics.
Your motorhome’s braking system is designed and
rated for operation at the gross vehicle weight rating
(GVWR) listed on the unit’s weight labels, not the gross
combined weight rating (GCWR).
WARNINGWARNING
Proper loading is one of the most important considerations
when traveling in a motorhome. Your motorhome is built
to carry a certain safe maximum load (GVWR). Read and
follow the information listed on your motorhome’s Federal
Certication Label to determine safe load limits. For safe
operation, NEVER OVERLOAD YOUR MOTORHOME.
Weight Terminology
GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT RATING (GVWR)
e maximum permissible weight of this motorhome.
UNLOADED VEHICLE WEIGHT (UVW)
e weight of this motorhome as manufactured at the factory
with full fuel tank, engine oil, and coolants.
OCCUPANT AND CARGO CARRYING CAPACITY
(OCCC)
Equal to the GVWR minus UVW plus the weight of any car-
ried LP fuel. Occupant and cargo carrying capacity (OCCC)
is how much weight in occupants, cargo, water, and trailer
tongue weight that can be added to the motorhome without
exceeding the GVWR.
GROSS COMBINED WEIGHT RATING (GCWR)
e maximum allowable loaded weight of this recreation
vehicle with its towed trailer or towed vehicle.
GROSS AXLE WEIGHT RATING (GAWR)
e value specied as the load carrying capacity of a single
axle system, as measured at the tire ground interfaces.
Federal Weight Label
e Federal Weight Label is typically axed to the driver’s
door jamb for Class B and C motorhomes and near the driv-
er’s seat for Class A motorhomes. is label concisely states
the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of your motor-
home, along with the gross axle weight rating (GAWR)
(both front and rear), tire size, tire weight rating, and prop-
er tire ination. is information meets the requirements
of 49 CFR part 571.120 as issued by the National Highway
Trac Safety Administration (NHTSA).
