Purpose
Compressionstockingsarethebasictherapyinthetreatmentofvenousdisordersandoedemas.In
additiontotheirmedicaleect,compressionstockingssupportyourwell-beingasawhole.
Compression therapy comprises measures of exterior, planar pressure applications in case of
venousdisordersandlymphaticdrainageproblems.Theapplicationofplanarpressureistoprevent
thedevelopmentofoedemasandsupportvenousreuxorlymphaticdrainage.
Compression therapy generally is a long-term treatment and requires the corresponding pro-
ductswhich–ifthemedicalindicationisgiven–thepatienthim/herselfappliesuponthedoctor‘s
instruction.
Indications
Primaryandsecondaryvaricosis;varicesduringpregnancy;supportingsclerotherapy;aftersurgical
venousinterventions;supercialthrombophlebitis,aswellasconditionafter healedupphlebitis;
deepveinthrombosis;conditionafterthrombosis;postthromboticsyndrome;thrombosisprophy-
laxisformobilepatients;CVIofstagesI–IIIaccordingtoWidmerandC1–C6accordingtoCEAP;
ulcerprevention;venousinsuciency;angiodysplasias;lymphoedemas;oedemasduringpregnan-
cy;post-traumaticoedemas;postoperativeoedemas;cyclicidiopathicoedemas;lipoedemas;lipo-
lympoedemas;phlebo-lymphaticoedemas;congestiveconditionsasaresultofimmobility(arthro-
genouscongestionsyndrome;paresesandpartialparesesofextremities);improvementofvenous
symptoms;occupationaloedemas(walkingandstandingwork;sedentarywork).
Afterburnsandforscartreatment,werecommendourspecialproductsforscartherapy.
Absolute contraindications
Peripheralarterialocclusivedisease(PAOD)stageIII/IV;decompensatedheartfailure;septicphlebi-
tis;phlegmasiacoeruleadolens;acuteerysipelas;acutebacterial,viralorallergicinammations;un-
treatedoradvanceddermatoses/contactdermatitis;untreatedopenwounds;swellingofextremi-
tiesofunknownorigin;untreatedmalignanttumours.
Relative contraindications
Pronouncedexudativedermatoses;malignantlymphoedema;peripheralarterialocclusivedisease
(PAOD)stageI/II;peripheralneuropathyassociatedwithdiabetesmellitus;sensitivitydisordersof
extremities; compensated heart failure; skin infections; dermatoses (e.g. blistering dermatoses);
intolerance ofpressure or ofproduct ingredients; primarychronic polyarthritis. Incase of open
woundsinthetreatmentarea,thewoundareamustrstcoveredwithanadequatewounddressing
orabandagebeforethecompressionstockingsareputon.

Side eects
Nosideeectsareknownifproperlyused.Incaseofanynegativechangesduringtheapplication,

withtheproduct,suchasdamageoftheknittedfabricorlackoft,pleasecontactdirectlyyour
medicalretailer.
Themanufacturershallnotbeliablefordamages/injurieswhichresultedduetoimproperhandling
ormisuse.
Precautions
Follow the instructions given by your doctor, by an orthopaedic technician or medical expert
personnel. Ifyou experience severe pain or discomfort, pleasesee your doctor, an orthopaedic

packaging.
Toguaranteeitseectivenessandforreasonsofhygiene,theproductmaynotbepassedontoother
patients.Anyseriousincidentthatoccursinconnectionwiththeproductmustbereportedtothe
manufacturerandtothecompetentauthorityoftheMemberStateinwhichtheuserand/orpatient
are/isdomiciled.
Directions for putting the stockings on
Put on your compression stockings in the morning after getting up. Sharp nger nails or
jewellerymaydamagethestockings.Itwouldbebesttoputonyourcompressionstockingswith
