Connect the THX Onyx™ to one of your computer’s USB ports, then plug your headphones
into the THX Onyx.

If THX Onyx USB Amplifier is not listed with a green check mark to indicate it is the default
playback device, choose it from the list and click Set Default.

THX Onyx Windows Configuration

Connect THX Onyx to USB

Connect the THX Onyx to a computer's USB port and plug in headphones.

Access Sound Control Panel

Navigate to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound.

Set THX Onyx Default Playback

Select THX Onyx USB Amplifier and click Set Default if it's not listed.

Confirm Default Playback Device

Ensure THX Onyx has a green check mark indicating it is the Default Device.

Configure Playback Properties

With THX Onyx selected, click on the Properties button.

Set Advanced Playback Format

Set the Default Format to 24 bit, 192000 Hz and enable Exclusive Mode.

Test Playback Audio

Adjust volume to 10%, click Test, and confirm the audio tone.

Set THX Onyx Default Recording

For headsets with mics, set THX Onyx as the Default Recording Device.

Configure Microphone Default Format

Change the microphone Default Format to 1-channel, 24-bit, 48000 Hz.
