wires.
B. Inspect oven and chassis for loose/missing screws, rivets and connectors.
C. Inspect facia panel for legibility of lettering, visibility of lamps and proper numeric
display.
D. Inspect oven door for warping or cracks and that the door closes and latches
properly.
E. At 1500 airframe hour or 6 month intervals, inspect oven door for the condition of
gasket, corrosion, adhesion problems or other damage. Refer to door gasket
replacement procedure in the assembly section if replacement is necessary.
F. At 1500 airframe hour or 6 month intervals, inspect the Waveguide Moisture
Cover, shown in Figure 501, located in the oven cavity for damage from excessive
arcing, i.e., burn marks. If damage is found, contact TIA. (SB-MW-003)
2. Microwave Oven Checks
A. Microwave Functional Check
1. Power Output Test: Performed to determine if the microwave oven is heating
to specification.
a. Fill a microwave safe container with 1 liter of water exactly.
b. Using the thermometer, measure the temperature of the water.
c. Put water container into the microwave. Heat the water for 65 seconds.
d. Using the thermometer, measure the water temperature after Step C.
e. Record the difference in water temperature from the beginning of the test to
the end of the test. The temperature rise indicates the power output for the
microwave. 8º F is the minimum acceptable temperature rise.
2. Carousel Operation:
Observe the operation of the carousel through the door
of the microwave. The tester should observe that the carousel turns when
the microwave is in operation.
