Overview

This document describes the TITAN TTB582PMP Submersible Pump, a power tool manufactured by Titan Power Tools (UK) Ltd.

Function Description:

The TTB582PMP is a submersible pump designed for circulating water with a maximum temperature of 35°C. It has a rated input power of 750 Watts. With suitable accessories, the pump can be used for draining flooded rooms, pumping water to or from containers, removing water from wells and shafts, and draining boats and yachts. The product is fully submersible (watertight encapsulation) and can be lowered to a water depth of 7 meters. It is intended for private use only and not for commercial trade. The pump is not suitable for long-term circulatory use (e.g., in ponds, swimming pools, aquariums) and should only be used with water having a pH between 6.5 and 8.5. It must not be used for other fluids such as hydrocarbons, oils, corrosive, flammable, or explosive substances, or other chemical products. The pump operates with an automatic interval function controlled by a float switch. The float switch contains a ball that activates a switch, allowing the pump to automatically switch on or off based on the water level, which can be adjusted by changing the free cable length of the float switch cable. The pump is equipped with a thermal cut-out that automatically switches off the product if the motor overheats due to overload, clogged intake, or low/no water. An automatic air bleed valve releases air pockets from the pump body.

  • Length of power cord: 10 m
  • Minimum water reservoir dimensions for float switch operation: 40 x 40 x 50 cm
  • Minimum cable length between float switch and clip: 50 mm

Usage Features:

  • Installation: The pump must be fully installed before operation. Electrical connections and cords should be protected from heat, oil, sharp edges, and moisture. Hoses/pipes should be installed to prevent mechanical pressure, oscillation, friction, or weight impact on the product, and laid as short and straight as possible with minimal bends. A reinforced delivery hose/pipe of the same or larger diameter as the outlet nozzle is recommended to reduce friction loss.
  • Connection to Power Supply: The product must be supplied through a residual current device (RCD) with a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA. The RCD device must be tested before every use. The float switch should be in its upper position when connecting the plug to a suitable socket. The RCD test involves pressing "RESET" (indicator light on), then "TEST" (indicator light off), and "RESET" again to restart.
  • Automatic Operation: The pump switches on automatically at a certain water level (switch-on level) and switches off when the water level drops to a definite height (switch-off level). The switch-on and switch-off levels can be adjusted by altering the free cable length of the float switch cable. It is crucial to ensure the float switch is free and unblocked in the water to prevent dry running. The base must be free of mud to allow free water drawing.
  • Manual Operation: The pump can be used to suck up water with a lower height (90mm, depending on the pump) by manually operating the float switch. To start, put the pump into water, connect to power, and lift the float switch. If the pump does not pump after 20 seconds, lower the float switch, lift the pump, wait for it to empty, and then immerse the whole pump in water.
  • Thermal Protection: If the thermal cut-out activates, disconnect the product from the power supply, inspect for damage or foreign objects blocking the impeller, and eliminate the cause before restarting. If the thermal protection continuously activates, the product should not be used and must be checked by a qualified specialist.
  • General Operation: Before each use, check the product, power cord, plug, float switch cable, and accessories for damage. The product must be fully immersed in water to prime correctly and achieve maximum constant flow; otherwise, it could be damaged. For automatic start, the pump needs to be submerged in a water reservoir with a minimum water level of 60 cm to avoid dry running.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: Always disconnect the product from the power supply and let it cool down before cleaning. Keep the product clean by removing debris after each use. Clean with a damp cloth and pH-neutral soap. Use a brush for hard-to-reach areas. Stubborn dirt can be removed with high-pressure air (max. 3 bar). Do not use chemical, alkaline, abrasive, or other aggressive detergents or disinfectants.
  • Impeller Maintenance: If excessive deposits collect in the base, dismantle the base and base plate by loosening the screws (7d, 7f) counter-clockwise. Remove the base (7), base plate (7e), and rubber gasket (7b). Clean the impeller (7a), base, base plate, rubber gasket, and housing (3) with clean water. Reassemble in reverse order.
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect the product and its attachments (hoses, clips, etc.) for wear and damage before and after each use. Replace worn parts as necessary or contact an authorized service center. Check for loose, dislodged, or damaged hoses, loose fixings, and worn components.
  • Power Cord: If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid a safety hazard.
  • Storage: Disconnect from power, release remaining water from the hose/pipe system, clean the product, and store it in a dark, dry, frost-free, well-ventilated place, inaccessible to children. The ideal storage temperature is between 10°C and 30°C. Using the original packaging or covering the product with a suitable cloth is recommended.
  • Transportation: Always carry the product by its handle (1). Protect it from heavy impact or strong vibrations and secure it to prevent slipping or falling over during transportation.
  • Repair: The product does not contain user-repairable parts. Contact an authorized service center or a qualified person for repairs.
