Overview

This document describes the TITAN TTB797CPR 24L 1.5HP Oil Free Air Compressor.

Function Description

The TITAN TTB797CPR is an oil-free air compressor designed for generating and supplying compressed air to pneumatic power tools and for inflating tyres. It is suitable for operating attachment tools with a maximum air consumption less than its air output. The product is not intended for inflating small-volume items or continuous operation, and it is designed for private domestic use only, not for commercial trade use. Compressed air from this compressor is not safe for breathing and should not be used for pharmaceutical, food, or health applications, nor for filling cylinders for breathing or diving apparatus.

Usage Features

Safety Features:

  • Overload Protection: The motor is equipped with overload protection that automatically stops the product if the temperature exceeds 140 °C. To reset, switch off, disconnect from power, turn the pressure regulator counter-clockwise to stop airflow, release remaining pressure from the attachment tool, let it cool for 10 minutes, remove the cause of overload, then reconnect and restart.
  • Safety Valve: In case the pressure inside the vessel exceeds the maximum allowable level, the safety valve activates, producing a hissing noise until pressure drops. This valve should be checked monthly by opening the relief nut (7.1) until a hiss is heard, then fully re-tightening. Tampering with the safety valve is strictly prohibited due to risk of injury and property damage.
  • Pressure Measurement: The product can measure air pressure without being connected to the power supply. A suitable attachment tool is inserted, connected to the inflatable item, and the pressure is read on the gauge.
  • General Safety Warnings: Always read instructions thoroughly, keep the work area clear and well-lit, avoid damp/wet locations, and do not use in the presence of flammable liquids or gases. Guard against electric shock by avoiding body contact with earthed surfaces. Keep children and bystanders away. Wear protective equipment (safety glasses, face/dust mask, non-skid footwear, protective gloves, slip-resistant footwear, hearing protection). Do not overload the product or use inappropriate attachment tools. Keep cords away from heat, oil, and sharp edges. Secure work with clamps or a vice. Maintain tools with care. Disconnect the product from power before servicing or changing accessories. Ensure the switch is in the "off" position when plugging in. Use outdoor extension cords for outdoor use. Stay alert and do not operate when tired. Check for damaged parts before use.
  • Air Compressor Specific Warnings: Ensure all compressed air lines and fittings are suitable for maximum operating pressure. Place the product securely on an even and stable surface. The compressor pump and lines become very hot during operation; avoid touching. The air sucked in must be free of impurities to prevent fires/explosions. Hold the connector when releasing the hose coupling to prevent injury from a rebounding hose. Use an air line with a safety cable for pressures above 7 bars. Maintain the pressure vessel in good condition and do not use if it has faults. Check the pressure vessel for rust/damage before each operation. Never leave unattended. Compressed air is not safe for breathing. Do not modify, drill, weld, or repair the product or its attachments. Never point the product at yourself, others, animals, or bystanders. When spraying paint/cleaning agents, do not smoke, keep naked flames away, ensure good ventilation, and wear a suitable face mask. Use in a suitable environment (5°C to 40°C, free from dust, acid vapour, explosive gases, flammable materials). Only use hoses and connectors designed for compressed air, with maximum working pressure higher than the compressor's. Do not move by pulling on the air hose. Do not insert fingers or objects into the motor. Replace faulty hoses; do not repair. Drain the tank after each use. Keep motor vent clear.

Operation:

  • Switching On/Off: Press the on/off switch (4) to position I to switch on, and to position O to switch off.
  • General Operation: Check the product, power cord, plug, and accessories for damage before each use. Ensure accessories are properly fixed. Keep air vents unobstructed. Switch off immediately if disturbed or if leaving the work area. Do not overwork; take regular breaks. Be aware that parts like the cover (3) become very hot during operation.
  • Attachment Tools: The product comes with various attachment tools including an air duster, washing gun, spray gun, inflating gun (with gauge), air hose, PTFE tape, and quick-lock coupling.
  • Connecting Attachment Tools: Wrap the quick-lock coupling thread with PTFE tape, connect to the air hose nut, and tighten with a spanner. Repeat for the attachment tool at the other end of the air hose. Connect the quick-lock coupling to the air outlet before operation.
  • Inflating: Connect a suitable attachment tool to the quick-lock coupling (14). Connect the attachment tool to the inflatable item. Switch the product on and wait until it stops, then turn the pressure regulator (2) clockwise to set the desired pressure (read on gauge 1). Switch off when the desired pressure is reached. Disconnect the attachment tool. For tyres with counter-pressure, it is recommended to switch the product on before connecting to the inflatable item. The pressure gauge is not calibrated; use a calibrated tyre pressure gauge for accurate final readings.
  • Releasing Pressure in the Cylinder: Switch off the tool. Insert the air hose with an air duster attached. With the tool off, turn the outlet pressure regulator to display an output pressure on the gauge. Operate the air duster to release pressure until no further air escapes. Disconnect the air hose and duster. Return the pressure regulator to the minimum position.
  • After Use: Switch off and disconnect from power. Disconnect attachment tool. Turn the pressure gauge (1) counterclockwise all the way and let the product cool. Release pressure in the cylinder as described above. Clean and store the product.

Maintenance Features

  • General Cleaning: Always switch off, disconnect from power, and let the product cool before cleaning. Keep the product clean, removing debris after each use. Clean air vents (13) with a cloth and brush after every use. Remove stubborn dirt with high-pressure air (max. 3 bars). Do not use chemical, alkaline, abrasive, or aggressive detergents.
  • Inspection: Inspect for worn and damaged parts before each use. Replace worn parts or contact an authorised service centre for repair.
  • Condensation Water: Condensation water accumulates in the pressure vessel (6) during use. This must be drained after each use to prevent internal corrosion and safety hazards. To drain, place a container under the pressure vessel, unscrew the drain valve (10), let the water drip, then screw the valve back in. Dispose of condensate properly.
  • Internal Cylinder Inspection: The internal surface of the cylinder should be inspected every 5 years by a specialist engineer to check for corrosion, which can weaken the cylinder and pose a danger.
  • Repair: The product contains no consumer-repairable parts. Contact an authorised service centre or qualified person for repairs. No spare parts are available for direct consumer purchase; contact an authorised dealer or customer service.
  • Power Cord: If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid safety hazards.
  • UK Plug: The appliance is supplied with a BS1363 3 pin plug fitted with a 13 Amp fuse. Fuse replacement must be with a 13 Amp fuse approved to BS1362. Wiring colours are Blue (Neutral), Brown (Live), Green/Yellow (Earth). Never connect live or neutral wires to the earth terminal. If a moulded plug is removed, dispose of it carefully to prevent it from being engaged in a socket.
  • Storage: Switch off and disconnect from power. Release all pressure in the vessel (6) if storing for an extended period. Clean the product. Store in a dark, dry, frost-free, well-ventilated place, inaccessible to children. Ideal storage temperature is between 10 °C and 30 °C. Use original packaging or a suitable cloth/enclosure to protect against dust.
  • Transportation: Switch off and disconnect from power. Attach transportation guards if applicable. Move the product on its wheels (8) using the handle (15) only. Protect from heavy impact or strong vibrations during transport. Secure the product to prevent slipping or falling.
