The Easytherm induction heater, manufactured by TM Induction Heating, is designed for heating rolling bearings and similar workpieces. It operates by generating an electromagnetic field within a coil to transfer energy to the workpiece, allowing for controlled heating. The device is intended for indoor use in industrial environments with ambient temperatures ranging from 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F) and atmospheric humidity between 5% and 90% (non-condensing).
Function Description:
The primary function of the Easytherm induction heater is to heat rolling bearings and other workpieces to a maximum temperature of 240°C (464°F). It offers two main operating modes: Temperature Mode and Time Mode.
In Temperature Mode, the operator sets a desired temperature, and the heater automatically heats the workpiece until that temperature is reached. This mode requires the use of a magnetic temperature sensor, which should be placed on the workpiece close to the bore, ensuring the surface is free of grease or oil. The sensor connects to the front of the heater with the red dot facing upwards. A "Temperature hold" feature is available, where if the temperature drops by 5°C/°F after the heating cycle is completed, the cycle automatically restarts to maintain the selected temperature. This process repeats for a maximum of 5 times.
Time Mode is designed for production areas where workpieces are consistently of the same specifications. In this mode, the operator sets a specific heating duration. It is recommended to first determine the appropriate time by using Temperature Mode and measuring the heating time with a stopwatch. When using Time Mode, the heating cycle must be monitored with an external temperature meter.
Important Safety Instructions:
- Authorized Use: Only authorized personnel familiar with the user manual and safe workshop practices should operate the heater.
- Workpiece Temperature: Bearings should generally not be heated above 120°C (248°F).
- Magnetic Field: The induction heater generates a magnetic field. Individuals with pacemakers or other implant devices, as well as sensitive equipment (watches, magnetic carriers, electronic circuits), should maintain a safety distance of 0.5 meters (19 inches).
- Protective Gear: Always use heat-resistant gloves (suitable for up to 240°C/464°F) when handling heated workpieces. Wear safety shoes.
- Workpiece Handling: Use appropriate hoisting equipment for heavy components and yokes. Never support components with metal cables near the magnetic field, as high currents can cause rapid heating and burns.
- Placement: Place the heater on a stable, horizontal, non-ferrous surface. Do not place it on a metal surface.
- Yoke Usage: Always use the largest possible yoke that fits the workpiece diameter. Position the workpiece onto the yoke, ensuring the yoke's machine-milled surface rests on the heater core poles. Avoid direct contact between the workpiece and the heater housing.
- Flammable Substances: Do not heat objects containing oil, grease, or similar substances that could generate fumes or smoke. Operate in well-ventilated areas.
- Power Supply: Ensure the heater operates at the correct supply voltage. If the plug does not fit, a qualified electrician must install a suitable one.
- Maintenance: All repairs must be carried out by an official TM Induction Heating distributor using original spare parts.
- Emergency Stop: Do not switch off the heater with the main switch while a heating cycle is running. In case of a loud vibrating noise, stop the heating cycle immediately using the start/stop button.

Yoke Compatibility: A range of yokes (7x7, 10x10, 14x14, 20x20, 25x24, 30x26, 40x38, 50x48, 60x60, 70x70, 80x80) are available, with varying minimum inner diameter (ID) requirements. The manual provides a detailed table indicating which yokes are included, optional, or not available for each Easytherm model.
Usage Features:
- LED Display: Shows selected temperature/time and measured temperature/remaining time.
- User Interface: Simple UP/DOWN buttons for setting parameters and a START/STOP button for controlling the heating cycle.
- Acoustic Signal: An acoustic signal sounds and the LED display flashes when the selected temperature or time is reached.
- Error Display: The heater automatically stops and displays an error code on screen if an issue occurs during heating. Common errors include:
- E01 (Magnetic temperature sensor not detected): Possible causes include low environment temperature, unplugged or incorrectly plugged sensor, broken sensor cable, or disconnected internal wiring.
- E02/E03 (Insufficient temperature increase): Indicates a damaged sensor, a bearing that is too large, or a bearing that is too heavy.
- E10/E12 (Fatal hardware error): Requires isolating the heater and contacting a local distributor.
Maintenance Features:
- Storage: Store the heater in a dry, frost-proof area, free from humidity.
- Cleaning: Keep the heater clean with a soft, dry cloth. Ensure the touchpad is clean for optimal visibility.
- Greasing: Regularly grease the contact parts of the heater core poles with acid-free grease to ensure optimal contact and prevent corrosion. For heaters with a pivoting yoke, also grease the vertical pin regularly.
- Temperature Sensor: Treat the magnetic temperature sensor with care as it is a critical component. Always use original spare parts for replacement. After use, it is recommended to place the sensor on the side of the vertical pole.
- Yoke Care: Handle yokes carefully to prevent damage and store them safely after use.
- Troubleshooting (Loud Vibrating Noise): If a loud vibrating noise occurs, stop the heating cycle. Check if contact surfaces are clean and greased, and if the yoke is 100% in contact with the surface. Instructions are provided to adjust the yoke by loosening bolts, running a heating cycle without a bearing, and then re-fastening the bolts.
The Easytherm induction heaters are manufactured in accordance with European regulations, are CE compliant, and meet ISO 9001:2015 quality management system requirements.
