1.Ensurethatthecargoboxisdownandlatched.
2.Liftuponthengerpullsatthebackpanelofthetail
gate(Figure18).

ClosingtheTailgate
Ifyouunloadedloosematerialsuchassand,landscapingrock,
orwoodchipsfromthecargoboxofthemachine,somethe
materialthatyouunloadedmayhavelodgedinthehinge
areaofthetailgate.Performthefollowingbeforeclosingthe
tailgate.
1.Useyourhandstoremoveasmuchofthematerial
fromthehingeareaaspossible.
2.Rotatethetailgatetoapproximately45°position
(Figure19).

4.Lowerthetailgateandcheckthehingeareasfor
remainingmaterialthatisinthehingearea.
5.Repeatsteps1through4untilthematerialisremoved
fromthehingearea.
6.Rotatethetailgateupandforwarduntilthelockanges
ofthetailgateareushwiththetailgatepocketinthe
cargobox(Figure18).
Note:Raiseorlowerthetailgateinordertoalignthe
lockangesofthetailgatewiththeverticalopenings
betweenthetailgateangesofthecargobox.
7.Lowerthetailgateuntilitisseatedinthebackofthe
cargobox(Figure18).
Note:Thelockangesofthetailgatewillbefully
securedbythetailgateangesofthecargobox.

withoutexceedingthemachine-loadratingscanvarygreatly
dependingonthedensityofthematerial.Forexample,a
levelboxofwetsandweighs680kg(1500lbs),whichgreatly
exceedstheloadrating.
