    • Z
      Zachary QuinnAug 19, 2025
If your Toro Lawn Mower engine won't start, try the following: Ensure the PTO knob (or lever) is disengaged (OFF), engage the parking brake, and connect the wire(s) to the spark plug(s). Also, move the Throttle/Choke Control or pull out the CHOKE control into CHOKE position. Make sure you're using clean, fresh gas (less than 30 days old) and that the fuel line is clean (replace the fuel filter if needed). Clean, adjust the gap, or replace the spark plug. Finally, crank the engine with the throttle in the FAST position.

If your Toro Lawn Mower isn't mulching grass effectively, make sure the throttle control is in the FAST (rabbit) position. Avoid mowing when the grass is wet; wait until it's dry. If the grass is excessively high, mow once at a high cutting height, then mow again at the desired height, or make a narrower cutting swath. Also, ensure that the blade is sharp; sharpen or replace it if necessary.
