YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS AND OBLiGATiONS
TheCaliforniaAirResourcesBoardandMTDConsumerGroupInc are pleasedto explainthe evaporativeemissioncontrolsystemwarrantyonyour 2007lawn
mower.InCalifornia,new lawnmowermustbedesigned,builtand equippedto meetthe State'sstringentanti-smogstandards.MTDConsumerGroupIncmust
warrantthe EECSon your lawnmowerfor the periodof timelisted belowprovidedthere hasbeennoabuse,neglector impropermaintenanceof your lawnmower.
YourEECSmayincludepartssuchasthe carburetor,fuel-injectionsystem,the ignitionsystem,catalyticconverter,fueltanks,fuel lines,fuelcaps,valves,
canisters,filters,vaporhoses,clamps,connectors,and otherassociatedemission-relatedcomponents.
Where a warrantable condition exists, MTDConsumer Group Inc will repair your lawn mower at no cost toyou includingdiagnosis, partsand labor.
MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE:
Thisevaporativeemissioncontrolsystemiswarrantedfor two years. If anyevaporativeemission-relatedparton your equipmentisdefective,the partwill be
repairedor replacedby MTDConsumerGroupInc.
OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Asthe lawnmowerowner,youare responsiblefor performanceof the requiredmaintenancelistedin your owner'smanual. MTDConsumerGroupInc recom-
mendsthat youretainall receiptscoveringmaintenanceonyour lawnmower,but MTDConsumerGroupInccannotdenywarrantysolelyfor the lackof receipts.
Asthe lawnmowerowner,youshouldhoweverbeawarethat MTDConsumerGroupIncmaydeny youwarrantycoverageifyour lawnmoweror apart hasfailed
dueto abuse,neglect,or impropermaintenanceor unapprovedmodifications.
Youare responsiblefor presentingyour lawnmowerto MTDConsumerGroupInc'sdistributioncenteror servicecenteras soon asthe problemexists.The
warrantyrepairsshouldbe completedin a reasonableamountof time,notto exceed30 days.If youhavea questionregardingyour warrantycoverage,youshould
contactthe MTDConsumerGroup IncService Departmentat 1-800-800-7310.
GENERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY COVERAGE:
MTDConsumerGroupIncwarrantsto the ultimatepurchaserand eachsubsequentpurchaserthat the lawnmoweris:Designed,builtand equippedso asto
conformwith allapplicableregulations;andfree fromdefectsin materialsand workmanshipthatcausethe failure of a warrantedpartto beidenticalin all material
respectstothat part as describedin MTDConsumerGroupInc'sapplicationfor certification.
Thewarrantyperiodbeginsonthe datethe lawn mowerisdeliveredto anultimatepurchaserorfirst placedintoservice.Thewarrantyperiodistwo years.
Subjectto certainconditionsand exclusionsas statedbelow,the warrantyonemission-relatedpartsisas follows:
1. Any warrantedpartthat isnot scheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenanceinthe writteninstructionssupplied,iswarrantedfor thewarranty period
statedabove.If the partfails duringthe periodof warrantycoverage,the part will berepairedor replacedby MTDConsumerGroupInc accordingto subsection
(4) below.Anysuchpart repairedor replacedunderwarrantywillbewarrantedfor the remainderofthe period.
2. Any warrantedpartthat isscheduledonlyfor regularinspectioninthe writteninstructionssuppliedis warrantedfor thewarranty periodstatedabove.Anysuch
partrepairedor replacedunderwarrantywill bewarrantedfor the remainingwarrantyperiod.
3. Any warrantedpartthat isscheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenancein the writteninstructionssuppliedis warrantedfor the periodof timebeforethe
firstscheduledreplacementdatefor that part.If the partfails beforethe firstscheduledreplacement,the part will berepairedor replacedby MTDConsumer
GroupInc accordingto subsection(4)below.Anysuchpart repairedor replacedunderwarrantywillbe warrantedforthe remainderofthe periodpriorto the
firstscheduledreplacementpointfor the part.
4. Repairor replacementofanywarrantedpart underthe warrantyprovisionshereinmust beperformedata warrantystationat nochargeto the owner.
5. Notwithstandingthe provisionsherein,warrantyservicesor repairswill be providedat all ofour distributioncentersthat arefranchisedto servicethe subject
enginesor equipment.
6. The lawnmowerownerwill not bechargedfor diagnosticlaborthat isdirectlyassociatedwith diagnosisof a defectke,emission-relatedwarrantedpart,
providedthatsuchdiagnosticworkisperformedat a warrantystation.
7. MTDConsumerGroupIncisliablefor damagesto otherengineorequipmentcomponentsproximatelycausedby a failure underwarrantyofanywarranted
part.
8. Throughoutthe lawnmowerwarranty periodstatedabove,MTDConsumerGroupIncwillmaintaina supplyof warrantedpartssufficientto meet theexpected
demandfor suchparts.
9. Any replacementpart may beusedinthe performanceof anywarrantymaintenanceor repairsand mustbe providedwithoutchargeto the owner.Suchusewill
not reducethe warrantyobligationsofMTDConsumerGroupInc.
10.Add-onor modifiedpartsthat are notexemptedby theAir ResourcesBoard maynotbe used.The useof anynon-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpartsbythe
ultimatepurchaserwillbegroundsfor disallowinga warrantyclaims.MTDConsumerGroupIncwill not beliableto warrantfailuresof warrantedpartscaused
bythe useof a non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpart.
WARRANTED PARTS:
Therepairor replacementof anywarrantedpart otherwiseeligiblefor warrantycoveragemaybeexcludedfromsuchwarrantycoverageif MTDConsumerGroup
Incdemonstratesthat the lawnmowerhasbeenabused,neglected,orimproperlymaintained,andthat suchabuse,neglect,or impropermaintenancewasthe
directcauseofthe needfor repairor replacementof the part.Thatnotwithstanding,anyadjustmentofa componentthat hasafactory installed,and properly
operating,adjustmentlimitingdeviceis still eligiblefor warrantycoverage.Thefollowingemissionwarrantypartslist arecovered: FuelLine,Fuel LineClamps
