Watchforholes,ruts,bumps,rocks,orother
hiddenobjects.Uneventerraincouldcausethe
machinetooverturnorcauseyoutoloseyour
balanceorfooting.
Ifthemachinestrikesanobjectorstartstovibrate,
immediatelyshutofftheengine,removethekey
(ifequipped),waitforallmovingpartstostop,and
disconnectthewirefromthesparkplugbefore
examiningthemachinefordamage.Makeall
necessaryrepairsbeforeresumingoperation.
Beforeleavingtheoperatingposition,shutoff
theengine,removetheignitionkey(electric-start
modelonly),andwaitforallmovingpartstostop.
Iftheenginehasbeenrunningthemuferwillbe
hotandcanseverelyburnyou.Keepawayfrom
thehotmufer.
Checkthegrasscatchercomponentsand
thedischargechutefrequentlyforanywear
ordeteriorationandreplacethemwiththe
manufacturer'srecommendedpartswhen
necessary.

Mowacrossthefaceofslopes;neverupand
down.Useextremecautionwhenchanging
directiononslopes.
Donotmowonexcessivelysteepslopes.Poor

embankments.

1.Holdtheblade-controlbaragainstthehandle

2.Pulltherecoil-starthandlelightlyuntilyoufeel
resistance,thenpullitsharply,andallowitto
returntotheropeguideonthehandleslowly(B

Toshutofftheengine,releasetheblade-controlbar.
Important:Whenyoureleasetheblade-control
bar,boththeengineandbladeshouldstopwithin
3seconds.Iftheydonotstopproperly,stop
usingyourmachineimmediatelyandcontactan
AuthorizedServiceDealer.
RecyclingtheClippings
Yourmachinecomesfromthefactoryreadytorecycle
thegrassandleafclippingsbackintothelawn.
Ifthegrassbagisonthemachine,removeit;
refertoRemovingtheGrassBag(page13).Ifthe
side-dischargechuteisonthemachine,removeit;
refertoRemovingtheSide-DischargeChute(page
13).
