5. Push the clutch pedal down and remove the drive
belt around the transaxle input pulley (Figure 173).

6. Unhook the brake return spring from the rear of
the frame (Figure 174).

7. Remove the cotter pin connecting the brake rod to
the brake lever (Figure 175).

8. Remove the cotter pin and washer holding the
shift rod to the transaxle shift bracket (Figure 176).
