ignited,usuallybyasparkplug,orfuelisinjectedintothe
dieselengine,whichignitesduetotheheatgeneratedin
theairduringthecompressionstroke.Theresulting
massivepressurefromthecombustionofthecompressed
fuelairmixtureforcesthepistonbackdowntoward
bott omdeadcenter.
