Why is my Toro LC1P65FC hard to start or running poorly?

If your Toro Engine is hard to start or running poorly, several factors could be responsible. These include incorrect fuel (level, age, octane, or ethanol content), fuel system contamination or carburetor debris, an incorrect oil level, or issues with the spark plug (incorrect gap, fouling, looseness, or faults). Other potential causes are air filter restriction, air intake system leaks, an incorrect ignition coil to flywheel gap, weak or no spark, improper auto choke system function, choke/air vane linkage problems, incorrect operating RPM, incorrect governor adjustment, engine valve clearance out of specification, or low compression/excessive leakdown.
