LevelingtheMowerDeck
Checktoensurethemowerdeckislevelanytimeyouinstall
themowerorwhenyouseeanunevencutonyourlawn.
Themowerdeckmustbecheckedforbentbladespriorto
leveling;anybentbladesmustberemovedandreplaced.Refer
totheCheckingforBentBladesprocedurebeforecontinuing.
Themowerdeckmustbeleveledside-to-siderstthenthe
fronttorearslopecanbeadjusted.
Requirements:
•Themachinemustbeonalevelsurface.
•Allfourtiremustbeproperlyinated.RefertoChecking
theTirePressureintheDriveSystemMaintenance
section.
LevelingtheMowerfromSide-to-Side
Themowerbladesmustbelevelfromsidetoside.Checkthe
side-to-sidelevelanytimeyouinstallthemowerorwhenyou
seeanunevencutonyourlawn.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurfaceanddisengagethe
bladecontrolswitch.
2.Movethemotioncontrolleversoutwardtothepark
position,stoptheengine,removethekey,andwaitfor
allmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingtheoperating
position.
3.Checktheairpressureofallfourtires.Ifneeded,adjust
totherecommendedination;refertoCheckingthe
TirePressureintheDriveSystemMaintenancesection.
4.Settheheight-of-cutlevertothe76mm(3inch)
position.
5.Carefullyrotatetheblade(s)sidetoside(Figure60).
Measurebetweentheoutsidecuttingedgesandthe
atsurface(
Figure60).Ifbothmeasurementsarenot
within5mm(3/16inch),anadjustmentisrequired;
continuewiththisprocedure.

6.Movetotheleftsideofthemachine.Loosen,butdo
notremove,therearlockingnutonthehangerbracket
(Figure61).
7.Loosenthesidelockingnutonthehangerbracket
justenoughtoallowtheeccentricplatetobeadjusted
(Figure61).Usea3/8inchdriveextensiononasocket
wrenchtomanipulatetheeccentricplate.Usethe
wrenchtorepositiontheheightofthemowerdeckand
adjustitsothatthemeasurementstakeninstep5are
within5mm(3/16inch).
8.Stopthedeckattheadjustedpositionandtightenthe
sidelockingnutonthehangerbrackettoholdthenew
position(Figure61).Tightentherearlockingnuton
thehangerbracket.
9.Continuelevelingthedeckbycheckingthefront-to-rear
bladeslope;refertoAdjustingtheFront-to-RearBlade
Slope.
