1.Lookatthecenterofthesparkplugs(Figure33).
Ifyouseelightbrownorgrayontheinsulator,the
engineisoperatingproperly.Ablackcoatingonthe
insulatorusuallymeansthattheaircleanerisdirty.
2.Ifneeded,cleanthesparkplugwithawirebrushto
removecarbondeposits.

thegapisnotcorrect.
InstallingtheSparkPlugs
1.Installthesparkplugsandthemetalwasher.Ensure
thattheairgapissetcorrectly.
2.Tightenthesparkplugsto16ft-lb(22N⋅m).
3.Connectthewirestothesparkplugs(Figure33).

Neverinstalladirtylterifitisremovedfromthefuel
line.
1.DisengagethePTO,movethemotioncontrollevers
totheneutrallockedposition,andsettheparking
brake.
2.Stoptheengine,removethekey,andwaitforall
movingpartstostopbeforeleavingtheoperating
position.
3.Allowthemachinetocooldown.
4.Stoptheengine,removethekey,andwaitforall
movingpartstostopbeforeleavingtheoperating
position.
5.Closethefuelshutoffvalve(Figure34).
