hairpinsandwashersthatwerepreviouslyremoved.
6.Installthemowerbeltontotheenginepulleyrst,thenontothemowerdeck.
7.Installthemowerbeltcovers.T orquethebeltcoverboltsto6–8N•m(50–75
in-lbs).
8.Raisethedecktothe76mm(3inches)height-of-cutpositionandcheck
fordecklevel.
9.Connectthebatterybyinstallingthepositivecablerst,thenthenegative
cabletothebattery.
MowerSpindle
MowerSpindleRemoval
1.ParkthemachineonalevelsurfaceanddisengagethePTO.Stoptheengine,
waitforallmovingpartstostop,andremovekey.Engagetheparkingbrake.
2.Disconnectthebatterybyremovingthenegativecablerst,thenthepositive
cablefromthebattery.
3.Removethemowerbeltcovers.
4.Removethemowerbelt.
5.Removethecuttingblade.
6.Removethe6selftappingboltsthatsecurethespindletothedeck.
7.Pullthespindleassemblydownward,throughthedeck.
MowerSpindleInstallation
1.Positionthespindleagainstthedeckandalignthemountingholes.
Note:Ensuretheundersideofthedeckiscleanbeforeproceedingwith
thespindleinstallation.
2.Install6taptitescrews.
Note:Spindletaptitescrewsarethreadforming.Donotreusespindle
mountingscrews.
3.Installthebellevillewasherwiththeconcavesidefacingthecuttingblade;
installthebladebolt.Torquethebladeboltto138–152N•m(100-110ft-lb).
4.Installthemowerbelt.
5.Installthemowerbeltcovers.
6.Connectthebatterybyinstallingthepositivecablerst,thenthenegative
cabletothebattery.
