UsingtheSelf-PropelDrive
Tooperatetheself-propeldrive,simplywalkforward
orbackwardwithyourhandsontheupperhandle
andyourelbowsatyoursides,andthemachinewill
automaticallykeeppacewithyou(Figure18).

Note:Ifthemachinedoesnotfreelyrollforward
orbackwardafterself-propelling,stopwalking,hold
yourhandsinplace,andallowthemachinetorolla
coupleofcentimeters(inches)forwardtodisengage
thewheeldrive.Youcanalsotryreachingjustunder
theupperhandletothemetalhandleandpushingthe
machineforwardacoupleofcentimeters(inches).If
youarehavingissuespropellinginreverse,slightlylift
thehandle.Ifthemachinestilldoesnotrollbackward
easily,contactanAuthorizedServiceDealer.
ShuttingOfftheEngine
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Toshutofftheengine,releasetheblade-controlbar.
Important:Whenyoureleasetheblade-control
bar,boththeengineandbladeshouldstopwithin
3seconds.Iftheydonotstopproperly,stop
usingyourmachineimmediatelyandcontactan
AuthorizedServiceDealer.
RecyclingtheClippings
Yourmachinecomesfromthefactoryreadytorecycle
thegrassandleafclippingsbackintothelawn.
Ifthegrassbagisonthemachineandthe
bag-on-demandleverisinthebaggingposition,
movethelevertotherecyclingposition;referto
OperatingtheBag-on-DemandLever(page13).If
theside-dischargechuteisonthemachine,remove
it;refertoRemovingtheSide-DischargeChute(page
14).
