Ifthesafetyinterlockswitchesaredisconnectedor
damaged,thetractorcouldoperateunexpectedly,
causingpersonalinjury.
•Donottamperwiththeinterlockswitches.
•Checktheoperationoftheinterlockswitches
dailyandreplaceanydamagedswitchesbefore
operatingthetractor.
UnderstandingtheSafetyInterlock
System
Thesafetyinterlocksystemisdesignedtopreventthe
enginefromstartingunless:
•Yourfootisoffthetractioncontrolpedal.
•Thebladecontrol(PTO)isintheDisengage
position.
Thesafetyinterlocksystemisdesignedtostopthe
engineifyoudothefollowing:
•Yourisefromtheseatwhenyoupressthetraction
controlpedal.
•Yourisefromtheseatwhilethebladecontrol
(PTO)isintheEngageposition.
Thesafetyinterlocksystemisdesignedtodisengagethe
bladecontrol(PTO)ifyoushiftthetransmissioninto
Reversewhilethebladecontrol(PTO)isintheEngage
position.
SettingtheKeyChoiceSwitchto
OperateinReverse
Aninterlockfeatureonthetractorpreventsthepower
take-off(PTO)fromoperatingwhenyoubackupthe
tractor.Ifyoushiftthetractioncontrolswitchinto
Reversewiththebladecontrol(PTO)engaged(i.e.,
withthemowerbladesorotherattachmentrunning),
thePTOdisengages.Donotmowinreverseunless
itisabsolutelynecessary.
