CAPTION
Closed captioning displays dialogue, narration, and/
or sound effects of a TV program on the screen in a
manner similar to subtitles in a movie. Captioning ts
especially
helpful
for
hearing
impaired
individuals.
Captions will appear at either the top or bottom of the
screen during caption broadcasts as shown below.

1 Check your local TV listings for the time and chan-
nel number of captioned programs. Programs cap-
tioned are usually notated by its service marks such
as “CC”,

3 Press CONTROLP or 4 until “CAPT 1” or “CAPT 2°
is displayed on the screen in red.
The CAPT 2 mode may be utilized for alternate
languages if they are being transmitted.

PROG ADD ERASE
The TV will display captions automatically if the
program you are watching has been captioned.
TOSHIBA | lf you do not want the caption displayed, select “OFF”.
Note: The following situations may not be accept-
able to decode the closed-captioned signal
with this TV set.
e The video tape which was dubbed
¢ The weak signal reception
e The nonstandardized signal reception
