38 Questions for Fax
Black lines are shown in the sent image.
When this has occurred, check whether the scanning area of the ADF is dirty. If it is, clean it with a soft cloth.
Fax jobs are not sent even if operations are carried out normally.
When this has occurred, check that the recipient’s machine is compatible with yours. The equipment does not support
G2 machines.
Sending fax jobs to an overseas site fails.
Specify Quality TX in order to send fax jobs to overseas sites. For details, see the reference below:

Fax jobs cannot be received even if “Receive” is displayed and the [START] button is
pressed.
When this has occurred, check the following items.
Did you replace the handset before you pressed the [START] button? When you answer a call on the handset to
receive a fax, do not replace the handset until you press the [START] button.
Is the power plug unplugged from the outlet?
Is there any problem at the sender’s side? Contact the sender to check this.
Paper is not outputted.
Check whether paper has run out or not.
Received jobs are printed in dark and illegible or black lines are printed.
Check the following items.
Is the suitable value set for the print density? Make a copy and check the print conditions.
Is the original being sent as a dirty copy? Contact the sender to check this.
Is there any abnormality in the sender’s machine? Alternatively, is the operation performed correctly? Contact the
sender to check this.
Paper is outputted but not printed.
Check the following items.
Is there enough toner?
Is the original placed correctly on the sender’s machine? Contact the sender to check this.
Paper misfeeding has frequently occurred.
Check the following items.
Is the size setting of the drawer correct?
Is the drawer properly inserted?
Is the specified paper being used?
