New Vehicle Delivery Checklist

  • Quality Inspection: Confirms that a Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) has been performed by factory-trained service professionals, verifying all systems and controls operate properly.
  • Vehicle Inspection: Ensures the exterior and interior are clean and undamaged, the fuel tank is full (or a gas voucher is provided), and all promised features are present.
  • Products or Services Due to Customer: A section to list any outstanding products or services due to the customer, along with the promised date.
  • Explain New Vehicle Publications: Guides the dealer to assist with Toyota app download, and review the Owner's Manual, Quick Reference Guide, Warranty Information (provisions, maintaining warranty, special operating conditions), Maintenance Schedules (including synthetic oil if applicable), and ToyotaCare Brochure (including no-cost service and roadside assistance if eligible).
  • Explain Vehicle Features and Benefits: Ensures the dealer thoroughly explains major features, demonstrates control operations, explains Connected Services and completes registration, demonstrates the Audio Multimedia System, adds dealer service contact information, demonstrates Bluetooth® and completes phone pairing, and demonstrates SiriusXM Satellite Radio.
  • Dealer Staff Introductions: Prompts the dealer to introduce the customer to the Service Manager, Parts Manager, and Customer Relations Manager, providing business cards.
  • For New Customers: Instructs the dealer to introduce new customers to the Parts and Service departments, review hours of operation, and provide telephone numbers. It also includes a section for scheduling the first appointment during normal business hours.
  • Proper Floor Mat Installation and Care: Verifies correct driver's floor mat installation, explains proper installation using retaining hooks (clips), and details floor mat care (never install upside down, do not place multiple mats, regularly verify security).

  • Quick Overview: Toyota Safety Sense™ 2.0 (TSS 2.0): TSS 2.0 is a suite of active safety technologies designed to mitigate or prevent collisions, support driver awareness, decision-making, and vehicle operation for a safer driving experience.   • Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/PD):

    • Function Description: Designed to provide alert, mitigation, and/or avoidance support in specific conditions when detecting a potential collision with a preceding vehicle, pedestrian, or bicyclist. It uses a grille-mounted radar and a forward-facing camera.
    • Adjusting PCS Warning Timing:
      1. Press the ">" switches and select "P" from the Multi-Information Display (MID).
      2. Press the "▲" switches and select "PCS," then press and hold "OK."
      3. Select "Sensitivity" and press "OK" to change the warning timing (Far, Middle (default), Near).
      4. Press "P" to return to the menu.
  • Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist Function:

    • Function Description: A feature of the Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) system, designed to notify the driver of unintended lane departure and provide small corrective steering inputs to help keep the vehicle in its lane.
    • Usage Features:
      • Press the LTA switch to turn Lane Departure Alert off.
      • Press the LTA switch again to turn it on.
    • Adjusting Sensitivity:
      1. Press the ">" switches and select "P" from the MID.
      2. Press the "▲" switches and select "LTA," then press and hold "OK."
      3. Select "Sensitivity" and press "OK" to change the sensitivity setting.
      4. Press "P" to return to the menu.
  • Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) with Lane Centering:

    • Function Description: Lane centering is a function of the LTA system, assisting the driver in steering control to keep the vehicle in the center of a lane when using Full-Speed Range DRCC.
    • Activating LTA:
      • Press the LTA switch to turn the LTA system on.
      • Press it again to turn it off.
    • Activating Lane Centering Function:
      1. Select "P" from the MID.
      2. Select "LTA," then press and hold "OK."
      3. Select "Lane Center" and press "OK" to change the setting.
  • Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC):

    • Function Description: Designed to help maintain a pre-set distance to a preceding vehicle traveling at a lower speed. The minimum set speed is approximately 20 MPH, with an operating speed range of 0-110 MPH once activated.
    • Usage Features:
      • To change the vehicle-to-vehicle distance: Push the "P" switch to cycle through the settings (Long, Medium, Short (default setting)).
      • Indicators: Set speed (e.g., 60 MPH), Full-Speed Range DRCC vehicle-to-vehicle distance switch.
      • Cruise Control Switches: Resume/Increase speed, Cancel, Cruise control ON/OFF, Set speed/Decrease speed.
    • Technical Specifications: Intended for highway use, functions between 0-110 mph, uses vehicle-to-vehicle distance control.
  • Automatic High Beams (AHB):

    • Function Description: Designed to detect headlights of oncoming vehicles and taillights of preceding vehicles, switching between high beams and low beams as appropriate.

      1. Press the "A" switch, then turn the headlight switch to "AUTO" or "O" position. The "A" indicator will illuminate when headlights are automatically on.
      2. Push the lever away to manually turn on high beams or press the "A" switch to turn the system off. The AHB indicator will turn off, and "P" or "--" will turn on.
  • Road Sign Assist (RSA):

    • Function Description: Designed to recognize specific road signs using the forward-facing camera, providing information to the driver via the display.
    • Usage Features:
      1. Press the ">" switches and select "P" from the MID.
      2. Press the "▲" switches and select "RSA," then press to turn RSA on or off.

Important Customer Information (Vehicle Operations)

This section covers essential vehicle operations, including the Smart Key System, steering wheel controls, Bluetooth pairing, and climate control. The sales representative will explain and demonstrate these features, but will not demonstrate the Pre-Collision System (PCS).

  • Smart Key System (if equipped):

    • Function Description: Allows the vehicle to be started without inserting a key.
    • Usage Features: The Smart Key must be carried to enable the start function. With the shift lever in Park and the brake pedal depressed, push the power button.
    • Indicators: "READY" (for RAV4 HV), "ENGINE START STOP" button.
  • Steering Lock Release (Without Smart Key):

    • Function Description: Addresses situations where the engine switch may seem stuck in OFF.
    • Usage Features: To free the key, turn it while turning the steering wheel slightly left and right.
  • Steering Wheel & Phone Control Switches:

    • Usage Features:
      • Start/end call button.
      • "MODE" button: Push to change audio mode; push and hold to mute or pause audio.
      • Volume control.
      • Voice command switch.
      • Seek buttons.
  • Bluetooth® Pairing for Your Phone:

    • Function Description: Guides the user through the process of connecting their phone to the Toyota multimedia system.
    • Usage Features:
      1. Step 1: Press [MENU], then select "Setup" on the display screen.
      2. Step 2: Ensure Bluetooth is turned on for your phone.

      • AUTO button.
      • OFF button.
      • SYNC button: Synchronizes driver and passenger temperature settings.
      • Air Conditioning ON/OFF button.
      • Windshield defogger.
      • Outside rear view mirror defoggers/Rear window defogger.
      • ECO mode button.
      • S-FLOW mode.
      • Recirculate cabin air (outside air when OFF).
