      If your Troy-Bilt Trimmer engine won't start, there are several potential causes: * The On/Off Stop Control might be in the OFF position. If so, turn it to ON. * The fuel tank may be empty. Refill it with properly mixed fuel. * The primer bulb may not have been pressed enough. Press it fully and slowly 10 times. * The engine could be flooded. Squeeze the trigger and pull the starter rope. * The fuel may be old or improperly mixed. Drain the gas tank and add a fresh fuel mixture. * The spark plug might be fouled. Replace or clean it. * The spark arrestor could be plugged. Clean or replace it. * The EZ-Start lever might not be set/flipped. Flip the EZ-Start lever.

Stop the engine and clean the cutting attachment. * The cutting attachment might be out of line. Refill with new line. * The inner reel could be bound up. Replace the inner reel. * The cutting head might be dirty. Clean the inner reel and outer spool. * The line could be welded. Disassemble, remove the welded section, and rewind. * The line may be twisted when refilled. Disassemble and rewind the line. * Not enough line might be exposed. Push the bump knob and pull out the line until 4 inches (102 mm) of line is outside of the cutting attachment.
